Hello, I am having an issue with my HP dv6 laptop running EVE.
This is a hybrid GPU laptop and currently I have the GPU mode set on the 6770
when launching eve I see the little box with eve logo and asteroids. The screen goes black like it is starting and then back to my desktop and back to the black screen and then to my desktop , it does this say 4-5 times before it seems the client has started. I can hear the music but the background is a frozen picture of my desktop background. I have no cursor or key control. It takes about a minute of pressing ctrl alt del to get out of it , when I start a task manager I can see the window minimizing .
Attempting to open it back up I can see the black screen pop up again and then back to my desktop background.

I have stripped my laptop down to essential start up only and tried that. Same result.

Note this is a fresh download of EVE . Returning player from a year ago or so.
I ran the repair tool and only found one thing missing which it said it fixed. I do not know what else to do.
Please advise. Thank you

Laptop specs are as follows.
HP Pavilion Dv6 6047CL laptop
Windows 7 64 Bit Premium
Intel Core i7 2630QM
8GB, 1,333MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6770M

Edit: Found thread with similar problems on same model of laptop. No solution from CCP but is locked......

Just a few thoughts here:

Video drivers are up to date?

Latest and greatest direct x9? or, even better, run the directx installer from Eve\bin\DirectXRedist

Hope this works.

Try doing a manual install of DX, laptops ALWAYS have problems with drivers and hardware when it comes to gaming.

Bought a brand new alienware m17 last year and it melted under 2 eve clients, never buying a laptop for gaming again :D.
