Planet Side 2 a DUST 514 killer? and possibly eve killer?

Smedley said somewhere that he wanted to put up sandbox servers, where the players will be the ones to create outposts etc in groups for their group and not for a pre-created faction.

If its enough to create a good sandbox or not is up for discussion.

I don't see how a PC game will kill a PS3 game.

However, if DUST ever finds its way to the PC, IT will kill Planet Side 2 (and maybe even Star Citizen). You bet on it.

If Dust was PC based i would play it over Planetside 2, and ive been in planetside beta for a while now.

Jokes aside Nicky may be partially right and PS2 will lich some players from EVE: I'm playing Planetside 2 beta 4th day in a row and can't stop. However if Dust will have PS2 gameplay I'll switch for sure.

P.S. I don't even like FPS games - but Planetside 2 is more like sci-fi DAoC.

See, that's why you're opinion is worthless. As long as one person wants to play DUST, then you're opinion that "no one is going to want to play" it is incorrect. I am not interested in Planet Side 2. I am, however, looking forward to DUST.

If Dust gets continuously developed, expanded and further integrated into Eve.... I would fully agree with this.

I haven't seen anything that would make me care to buy Planetside 2.

But I'd get Dust if it went to the PC.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

as a planet side 1 vet and a planet side 2 beta tester, it loses its fun factor really fast. It gets really boring and repetitive and simply the reason why i quit PS1 in the first place. PS2 is no different after playing beta for a few months.

I played PS2 for 2 weeks .. i desinstall it yesterday ...

CCP it's time to remove Off Grid Boost and Put Them on Killmail too, add Logi on killmails .... Open that damn door !!

In an ideal world SoE's overlords would pimp out combat statistics from PS2 to DUST in case of prime time invariances.


My personal expectation: DUST-514 will be more active month 3, month 6 and year 1.


Any real losses on Dust 514 will be from the forums, PS2 will also clear a lot more via ingame mechanics.

There are already shouts re: aimbot on PS2. Can't think of anyone that would shout that about a console game straight off the bat.

Sorry if this sounds narrow-minded, but honestly every FPS looks the same to me. Only the truly hard-core basement dwellers give a crap about the intangible differences between MOH and COD anymore. So if Planetside is just like Dust... I have to say "So what?"
