Ladar sites in WH space, do they regenerate after downtime or no?

so I activated a ladar site (core something) in a C5, killed the 4 sleeper BSs and mined the small cloud completely (only 500 unites), and then some of the big cloud.

after next downtime, the sleepers respawned, and both clouds (even the small one that I had mined completely the day before) had regenerated.

the 3rd day, no sleepers (and yes, I waited like one hour), and the gas did not regenerate either (but the site was still acitve, giving me a popup when I initate warp

so how does it work, anyone knows?
they regenerate, but only maybe? or random-chance based? or they only regenerated once?

I have had this occasionally myself very rarely, so you're very lucky to have this happen in a c5 site :D

Ive had it happen about twice in a year, and thats in 2 c2 systems and a c4 system i have called home in that time.

Get in there and suck that Gas, incase it happens again!

Busy at work then Matt.

Never had it happen to me, but then again I am unlucky.

what MIGHT have occurred here, is the site has actually despawned, and another one has taken its place at the same location. i have seen this in a few occasions with actual wormholes. We had a bookmark from a day ago that was 'Reaching End', i warped to check it, and bam, new wormhole, at the same place. wierd...

that could be what has happened. after all, there is only a set number of places a site can spawn, even if the space is large, im sure the Random generator can sometimes use the same one straight after...

Maybe these emergency shutdowns/reboots we have had in last week has had something to do with it.

Yes, almost certainly.

^^ This is the reason, a server shudown/reboot resets sites that have already been activated/but not finished. This also applies to grav sites.
