there's usually 45k online when i log on.
and i don't think i have EVER seen the server be at 60k avg.

i recall at last years alliance tournament that they almost broke a record with total amount online with 57-59k online at the same time.

Well these forums are pretty boring. Every thread is moaning and winging, talking about some form of 'bears' or just taking the game too seriously. No wonder there aren't many posts!

Maybe all the trolls and every thread being the same old argument tends to dampen peoples' enthusiasm for posting?

Maybee its because ccp has not introduced a decent expansion in the last 2 years? Null sec is the same, low sec is the same, the ships are the same, look at Tech3.. nothing been added to them for over 3 years..

The only things that seem to be changing is high sec mechanics and bullshit cosmetics no one gives a sh1te about.

It's like the EvE employees have ADHD and cannot stick to a course of action and keeping on it before changing there minds...

Eve Is dieing, it is now turning into a domino effect. What do i mean by that? well my friends are not online so i am nbot going to be online..

GD died when ISDs came in and started heavily modding the forum. Now it's not even interesting. Only if you do a dumb "Like" thread will it be left alone.

Anyone with any experience in the game realizes that the upcoming "bounty everyone" *feature* is just a griefer's dream come true. So I imagine a lot of folks are just letting their subs run out until after the new year to see how that actually does pan out. I know a few people who are playing Dust right now as well, so their Eve time is suffering. This may be a trend Eve wide. Only CCP knows for sure.

Plus, the OP got one number from right after downtime. Exams, Sandy, etc. may have had/are having an effect right now.

Friday morning, 0742 EST and 18,431 people on. Looks fine to me. Big smile

Looking at it from a metrics point of veiw, it all depends on the population average of this winter to see if it holds up to last winters crucible update. Have we held onto those returning players.

Even so there is a definate percentage of players who have left EVE and not yet returned.

The question is, why not?

Another person posting before they've done their research. Subs go up every year like clockwork. Eve is not dying, subs are not going down, traffic is not going down. Take the time to look this stuff up before deciding to post an "Eve is dying" thread.

The only thing hurting Eve, is all the "Eve is dying" threads.

Above, subs and active account stats. End of thread.

From a high point of up to 50k people online at a time, its now slowly ,but steadily sliding down to a peak of around 30k and normally less than 20k online at a time.....

Is it Sandy or is it me , or is is EvE who ceased to tease ?
Where is everyone?

Probably backlash from high Plex prices, people are dropping subs on their extra alts, less alts, less numbers online.

Doesnt explain the SHARP decline in forum activate

Edit: it may be sandy, but i cant imagine that many players are from the east coast. also, 9am(eastern) is around the time the server goes down daily i think

agreed.

if the thread goes remotely off topic due to the nature of what a dialogue is, they start getting a bit happy with the edit and delete buttons.
