From a high point of up to 50k people online at a time, its now slowly ,but steadily sliding down to a peak of around 30k and normally less than 20k online at a time.....
It even dropped down to less than 7000 yesterday 9AM.......

Is it Sandy or is it me , or is is EvE who ceased to tease ?
Where is everyone?

I dunno, look at the forums. The forums are moving as slow as molasses. They used to be pretty quick but now I see a post I made two hours ago or more only 4-5 posts below this thread.

:(

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

I blame Dec Shield and James 315.

No, wait, I blame the EVE hamsters.

Real Edit: Snip - There's no need for that. Use the Moderation discussion thread if you've got something to say about moderation on these forums. ISD Suvetar

Probably backlash from high Plex prices, people are dropping subs on their extra alts, less alts, less numbers online.

Doesnt explain the SHARP decline in forum activate

Edit: it may be sandy, but i cant imagine that many players are from the east coast. also, 9am(eastern) is around the time the server goes down daily i think

Wasn't there some plan to start keeping the forums clean, shoving threads from GD to places they belong to and so on? Accompanied by an increase of staff responsible for these things.
I think I've read something like that recently.
Given that it seems most people are used to mainly read and post in GD, that could explain a perceived decline in forums activity.

I don't know, it's just an assumption.

It's funny, I was thinking the opposite: in that EVE online's numbers had dipped really low and were starting to come back up.

I believe it is still the after effect of the focus last year on Walking around in stations and selling stuff in the online store instead of focusing in on internet spaceships.

Now it seems to me that people are slowly coming back to EVE since CCP is focused on internet spaceships.

I think EVE has bottomed out and will start to increase once again. I haven't really played EVE in almost a year at this point but am coming back since it seems that CCP is committed to Internet Spaceships. Who knows, I may even re-activate my alt account at some point!

Halo 4 sounds like a likely enough candidate.

Also wb Siigari, haven't seen you in a while.

Over the last few years CAOD has gone from a fairly live discussion, to almost a dead zone. Your starting to see the same drop off here in GD.
People are bored with the arguments, the trolling, the meta-gamers, and there is not a lot of new blood coming into the game.
All games have turnover, in order to offset that you have to have new clients signing on, staying on, and getting involved enough in the game to stay long term, they then are more likely to get involved in the forums. Eve is not for the average player, it requires too much involvement to get beyond simply flying around and trying to make isk.
It's possible that Eve cannot sustain itself long term, without changing the very foundation of the game, and possibly ruining it in the process. I guess we will see.....What?

looks at the time you wrote that post

umm okay EU people are still waking up or are on their way to work/school
people down under all still at work /school
and the people in north america just went to bed since it is a normal working day

now people online didn't see a significant drop , usually around 36k to 37 k each time i log in been like that for a long time now

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

Eve died already, now it's just decay process causing occasional spikes mimicking life.

Just GD. CCP are taking all the good threads and hiding them somewhere else in an attempt to make GD as boring as possible.
