Random Stuttering

Hello,

I have been experiencing random stuttering in EVE (and other games, in fact) since the middle of September.

It always starts without warning, lasts about two minutes and then returns to perfectly normal without apparent reason. The game doesn't crash and still reacts to what i do, but very slowly. The intensity of the stutterings appears to stay the same each time, regardless of whether much is happening in the game or not.

While those stutterings are happening, my task manager shows that the CPU usage is much higher than it normally is while EVE is running. If i minimize the EVE window, the spike immediately vanishes and then returns once i maximize EVE, until the stuttering stops after about two minutes.

While i don't know what exactly causes the stuttering, it seems it happens a lot more often while i am docked and looking at the Hangar with "Load Station Enviroment" checked. It happens almost every 10 to 15 minutes, while it maybe happens only once or twice per hour when i am actually flying in space.
I disabled the Station Enviroment and it actually prevented the problem from occuring while i am docked.

Things i have tried so far:

- Running CCleaner
- Running a Defrag
- Checking if my CPU gets overheated
- Updating drivers for everything i could think of
- Checking for viruses

And maybe some other stuff i don't remember now.

My system is old, but it never had trouble running EVE until this thing started and continues to run EVE normally outside of these two minutes of slideshow. I can provide DxDiag information about my system once i know how to attach files in these forums.

It may be noteworthy that i did a major cleanup of my harddrive shortly before the problems started. I deleted over 200GB of unused junk and generally improved overview and speed of my system by removing and rearranging stuff in a reasonable manner. I may have broken something important in my crusade to clean everything up.
