Absolutely 100% (+10%) agree with this look for future redesigns of ORE ships (hint hint T2). Containers, upon containers, upon containers. And, if the graphic art developers want "mode animations" then having increasing numbers of containers begin to stack up during mining operations would be awesome.

More vertical mining ships please. Also, please redo the Mining barges so they look less like this and more like this or even just redo them in the ORE frigate styling.

The Destroyers look nice, the improvements to the minmatar one make it look nicer although some more modifications to the hull to make it look more sci-fi would've been nicer.

There is no point in that kind of camouflage in space and it is very ugly (subjective, I know, but I have not heard of anyone liking the camouflage addition to ships). If you want to "hide" a ship in space, paint it black (not that I am proposing this).

There are those who think that camo is funky (and even cool).

I know some ex-caldari service people who'd like to talk with you about that.

And I for one like my camo painted bunny scorpion thank you ...

Okay, the Rattlesnake does look good with camouflage (I have one), but I should clarify my complaints are for the Minmatar ships (Vargur specifically) for being put in camouflage.

I like the camouflage paint jobs. I've always been under the impression that the camouflage is decorative since it's rather difficult to spot something in space by sight alone to begin with. A ship "sees" through various sensors and displays objects on the overview. Camouflage paint jobs aren't going to change that, so falling under the impression they are applied in an effort to conceal a ship is rather foolish since there are modules which allow you to do just that.

As I think more about this, I think the issue is just to admit *at all*, "Oh, we ripped off this Sci-Fi movie design, and from this TV show, and stole from this awesome favorite ...." Tsk, tsk, tsk. When the devblog comes back, mark my words, no more references to "inspiration" except the actual military and industrial ships and vehicles.

On the "EvE looks darker" part, I have a comment I would really like to get forwarded to the relevant people.

I think EvE looks fine, but there is no "night". I would really enjoy it if, when you are in the shadow of a big enough celestial (like a planet, moon or a station, only the lights on the ships and the reflections of those and nearby lightsources where still visible, so that we would really get a feel of being in the pitch black void that is space.

So, less ambient light, to let the local lights shine, if I may say so. Roll

It's been said by many others before, but in partnership with what you've said, I'd like to see light diminish the further-out you go in a solar system... Why should the Sun be as large and bright at planet XI, as it is at planet I...?

Space battles in the dark behind a planet would look epic!

Actually... is it forbidden to say that you have been inspired by X or Y?

The problem is likely not with the names or the objects, but with the pictures themselves. I didn't see CCP give credit to the owner of those; honestly, it's not a big deal though, CCP didn't say they owned those images either.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Yes, if the similarity is "excessive". Not a lawyer, but obviously, else copyright would have no meaning.

Joined a fleet tonight, started talking about it and then it was like... wtf...where did it go :(

Yeah I wasn't sure what to call it, but what I mean by "mode animation" is the possibility of the ship to enter a different state or a mode, like putting up extra armor and/or retracting wings when your are engaged in combat.

The Mega is a DPS boat, almost always a blaster boat. Especially the varients like the Kronos and Vindicator with their strength but not range bonus to webbing.
Compare these two linked images. Ignore the broken terrible new texture for now (Dev says it's still WIP and texture is broken).

The top front half of the old ship has a single fluid convex curve, it it like a muscle across a shoulder (true to the game's canon of organic racial inspiration) and emphasises the potential power of the highest DPS sub-cap ship in the game. The front then curves down and only forwards to the horns/spikes (giving no quarter, there is it: being close; and being closer/in your face). The rear half is shorter than the front with flowing curves and gives a sense of compactness and up-front focus.

The new model is undeniably bent along the top, and then has frowny eyebrows, a concave face, and just looks sad/depressed about the situation it finds itself in. The back half is now terribly straight lined, long and utterly forgettable.

Never mind that the texture should also invoke organic form and not plate metal, the ship is a fighting bull, not a pathetic rectangle with a melted front like someone's held a burning candle out horizontal and it's weakened itself.

Please try again, or leave it alone, do it justice.

P.S. Your forum doesn't like to leave 2 links with a space inbetween them.
Also why can't we have the lighter/fixed textures & lighting once 50% of models are new, rather than 100%?

You F**king What?
That's a huge step backwards! Its as if the new model is the old model, and the old model is the revamped version of the mega.

My days that's horrible. Personally I have always loved how the mega looks, you have killed it CCP.
