Could have sworn the gallante influence to be the British Halifax B MkII on the front with this specific double bubble and flat sides. Liberator B-24 if the only one that comes to mind with the flat sides.
And fyi the flying fortress was the B-17

From what I have seen of the Tempest, you ruined it. First off, who in their right mind would change the *ICONIC* ship in Eve. Iconic means it has a memorial status. "Do I have to look it up for you?" "Trust in the rust." Get it?! You do not touch it. What a mistake.

You made it beefer, tougher, thicker. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

+1

Tempest is the gunboat of the Minmatar Battleship lineup. It is fast, with alot of firepower, and not much in the way of defenses. It has always looked as if the scrapyard workers found a massive engine, strapped a few flat plates to mount guns onto it, and shipped it to the front lines. It should keep this look, not the beefier version we have coming up.

Why is all the engines working on the screenshot of the stabber when the concept art and the old stabber have one engine that is broken? I hope this is just WIP and not the finished product :)

Really good work on the new stuff. Lol

I am a little sad the new megathron lost its auxiliary powerplant like the macharial still has, its a drone bridge or something now.

Minmatar Hulls:

New Tempest - GREAT, could improve by tweaking the lower thruster so it's aligned on the central axis of the ship rather than skewed to starboard.

New Vagabond - AWESOME (comment as above)

New Stabber - Fantastic

New Vagabond - Absolutely the most EPIC/FANTASTIC/AWESOME/COOL design in the game

New Destroyer - poor, could be improved if the 'tower' had sides that sloped in or were chamfered (too block like). The model could also do with being much smaller so the missile launchers appear to be larger. Other than that, this design has the potential to be great.

Any chance of different sails on the Fleet Tempest? Smile

Altogether, this is a vast improvement, thanks Cool

More vertical mining ships please. Also, please redo the Mining barges so they look less like this and more like this or even just redo them in the ORE frigate styling.

The Destroyers look nice, the improvements to the minmatar one make it look nicer although some more modifications to the hull to make it look more sci-fi would've been nicer.

Vagabond

It is like that to show a clear picture of how the engines look like, concept art you know?

Well the new designs look very nice.

But, imho, there should be some effort put towards remodeling ships, which look like animal cracker (apocalypse), potato (dominix), maybe even amarr titan which could be described much more dirty, then just mushroom.
Why not put on web some voting for which ship players consider the most undesirable of every race?

I have noticed this from all over the few pilots I have met so far in the space in my short flying career.

Unfortunately we had to unpublish the devblog on a short notice for further refinements. Once we have finished these required refinements we will publish the blog again for everyone to enjoy and to discuss.

Please accept our apologies for this short term notification.

Can someone say, "Copyright infringement" or "Intellectual Property"? (Possibly the pictures?)

Seems fully possible.

Much to our combined surprise CCP suddenly realised that they are a serious developer studio (well, working on it) and can't use the same jokes and memes as we players can without repercussions ;)

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Very cool dev blog, and great to see how your design process works. My only complaint about the new destroyers is how similar the new amarr one looks to the Coercer. Any chance you guys will go back and take a look at it?

I'm sorry two step, but if anything it resembles the new Purifier.

The only thing it has in common with the Coercer is that it's general tube shaped and has two (not one) protrusions out the sides.

I'm not making a judgement as to whether it should be redone, just pointing out the obvious design influence.

Please stop (and undo!) camouflage on spaceships. There is no point in that kind of camouflage in space and it is very ugly (subjective, I know, but I have not heard of anyone liking the camouflage addition to ships). If you want to "hide" a ship in space, paint it black (not that I am proposing this).

There are those who think that camo is funky (and even cool).

I know some ex-caldari service people who'd like to talk with you about that.

And I for one like my camo painted bunny scorpion thank you ...
