Poke me when CCPer of that sort pops up.

Having looked into this for a while now I am starting to conclud that solo PvP is a lot harder than it used to be.

But for a player who fancies solo running through low sec once every now and again for laughs, looking for opportunist kills, I am struggling to find a better option than the vaga for that sort of price bracket.

True, it may not have the dps to solo everything it finds, but it can still pack a decent wallop and is still one of the fastest cruisers you can buy.

This last point is important for a solo opportunist; the ability to pick your fights, survive gate camps and gtfo when things go south.

Of course, I will likely not survive getting counter ganked by a high tech group with rapiers, lokis or arazus but not much else would either.

The perma mwd thing may not be the best idea but, if I practice pulsing it, kiting and pick my fights intelligently, I may still be able to survive for a while. I would also drop the cap stuff, put on a second lse and up the dps.

Vaga uses MWD to dictate range. You can use MWD for transversal but this would tend to be to increase your damage on a small target. At 24km with MWD bloom you will not mitigate any damage as a result of transversal alone.

Transversal helps but it is not a good idea to simply orbit in a ship like this. You run the risk of getting sling-shotted into tackle range.

Doesn't mean perma MWD itself is a bad idea necessarily.

Actually, we find your lack of faith disturbing.

As far as the Vagabond goes, it doesn't quite measure up to the types of ships that are typically flown nowadays. A drake will outdamage it at range, Hurricane will have similar range, better tank, and more damage (but slower). Then you have the T3 Battlecruisers that even with short range weapons will rip a Vagabond apart before it can take any of them down. The Vagabond is simply outranged nowadays.

Not to mention that the Vagabond is eclipsed by the Cynabal which is better than the Vagabond in all ways and at a fairly competitive price as well.
