apparently not, and he's not alone in suggesting such nonsense

Would you go pirate in high sec after 4th of December, considering the bounty system and the new flagging system... ?

I doubt that anyone truly committed to piracy will care about these changes regarding high sec. Though we're likely to see some tears from weekend privateers Twisted.

Sounds like you don't actually want to PVP and just want to steal from cans.

Oh please, saying that every person in EVE being able to kill you after stealing a can is an out of proportion response is not the same as saying you "don't actually want to PVP"

Making statements like that is completely dishonest, either that or you're legitimately very stupid and didn't comprehend the argument.

Retaliation / consequences for your actions (like stealing) is fine, wonderful. It needs to be reasonable though, otherwise it messes things up. If the response is none or too little for a given action, then it'll get abused and done too often. If it's insanely high then it kills that action.

Still sounds like you don't actually want to PVP

To put things into perspective for you: Every person in EVE is able to kill you in low-sec or null. What your saying is that now that this can happen in high, it's a deterrant to PVP. If anything you should have said, it's a deterrant to stealing, which to some people isn't really a bad thing.

I'm all but certain you will see a rise in the shooting in High Sec. As has been stated before, most can flippers & ninjas are wanting to be shot at already so just being red to EVE isn't all that big of a deal (especially when it's primarily other high sec scrubs who'll be shooting at you). Can flipping will probably result in even more hilarity, the only issue being that miners will be able to come back w/ their hauler and take the can back without incident. Of course, this is not all that hard to solve for the ore thief.

All in all, I think Crimewatch will be hilarious. I expect the first few days to be spectacularly violent.

The changes will make it harder to ninja-salvage missions, either trash-man or baiting style, but mainly because both will have to contend with the new NPC AI (although trash-men will have it easier because they can wait out the missioner (find blitzer, make bookmarks)).

Can-flipping in belts, if it hasn't already died by now, won't change much although apathy on the part of the flippee might kill a lot of opportunities ("someone else will get this guy...")

Gankers and anyone <= -5 still won't give a ****; pods are pretty much uncatchable in high-sec if you're at the keyboard and you don't see insta-lockers camping gates right now anyway. The problem will come with alts looting wrecks, although I still don't see that being a huge issue.

I think pirates will adapt, they're much better at that than carebears. In the end they'll probably face a bit more risk, but not by much. I think the empire carebear has much more to worry about with the new bounty system.

CCP has no sense of humour.
