Earth is a religious legend peddled by people that have lost hope in the human ability to solve our biggest problems. Humanity needs to move past ancient myths and embrace the reality of the present. Even if Earth did exist, it's not in any place that we can find. Even if we did find this place, it is doubtful that such a discovery would bring us the peace or the answers that people promise. It is most likely a deserted wasteland or a place hostile to any visitation from the four nations. Think: the Jove cannot reach Earth. Not even the finest Astrographers and Physicists in the galaxy can even make a dent in the question of Earth. What hope do we have?

Earth is also a synonym for "ground", I believe, sir.

I don't follow, Scherezad. Why would she say that we need a God to lead us back to "ground" when anyone can set foot on any of the tens of thousands of habitable planets in the galaxy? It seems clear to me she's talking about the "Earth" legend.

I am somewhat unclear that the Earth legend and the Terra Hypothesis are mutually inclusive. The Terra Hypothesis is 4th grade biology about a common evolution for humanity. Scientifically it's easy to see, but this original planet could be and probably is somewhere within our galaxy, maybe within Amarr space, and we have simply lost the historical records necessary to locate it.

The Intaki people have myths about an "Earth" but I'm not so sure that it's supposed to be a planet. The only thing that's clear is that legends claim that finding it will produce a miracle. I am skeptical.

It pretty clearly is referring to earth, as in dirt, as in "grounded".

They don't teach metaphor in Gallente universities nowadays, hm?

You're right, I read that post again. My mistake. The Intaki translation for that sentence makes no sense.
