EVE Alliance Tournament Discussion

After talking at length to someone writing a PH.D. paper here are my thoughts on the next tournament. I know you are all on the edge of your seats listening.

The double-elimination format almost eliminates match-fixing. The points-based match rounds and group stages leave more room for "negotiation". Better to have a format that requires teams to win instead of trying to use rules to enforce it.

As the automation of matches improves maybe it will become possible to allow all teams that would like to participate the chance to in a double-elimination format down to 32? Could run two arena systems at once and broadcast on two video channels. That would in turn eliminate the auction and any sort of weird point fixing.
