Has anybody found the loss of standing with the opposing faction to be of any problem? Is that how people are tending to choose which militia to join, or are there other considerations before you decide?

No problem thus far, even for trade hubs I do not fin any problem and in corps if you dont have alts they will have someone that can buy and move stuff for you from jita etc.

There were many considerations for us and me joining FW, most turned out to be nothing to worry about and a lot of the concern I have heard about FW this and that mostly turned out to be a bunch of BS and I am loving it. So far all our guys seem to love it too and I have yet to meet anyone in FW currently that is bitching and whining.

I am probably missing it, but can one attack/be attacked in HighSEC?

Yes, and is cool.

Opposite militia memebers can attack one each other anywere.

Also, if you enter an opposite faction high-sec NPC navy attack you... well, is more verbal, as you enter the syste, they start to insult you and threat in broadcast "you, enemy of the amarr empire, leave now, scum , bla bla" then they slowly start to approach, then they slowly web, then they start to weakly shoot. Not a big issue, there's plenty of time to move away.

IMO, FW should be 100%% PVP. I was going to join to get away from missions. Imagine my suprise that FW is loaded with missions. Sad

No. Because plexing LP for ISK is exactly the reason for lots of targets and PvP in the FW battlezone. FW is a compressed null-sec in low-sec with a mix of both.

There's still some more good fixes on the way in Retribution but I agree. Right now FW is the best part of EVE, way better than 0.0. I only wish there was a pirate FW faction that was at war with all 4 factions, yarrrrr!

We are trying to take that role :D

Tthis topic wins, 10/10. I thought that all the drama is only outside the empire while the real fight was just right at my door. Somehow I had the feeeling that FW is some kind of "scripted" RP pvp, in some ways similar to the pvp tournaments... I had no idea that is so massive and fun. Just started to read upon and I already have a blast seeing how complex an massive is.. I just need to sort out some personal issues and then I will jump right into the battle... this gonna blow!

Thanks Xercodo for the sugestion to read up about the Khanid Kingdom, I just realised how blind I was all this time. And the EVE lore is just awesome. If I just could have enought time to read all of it, seems to be more impressive than BSG or any Clarke trilogy. Now I'm busy!!

I'll gladly join FW with my corp when CCP lets me join Sansha's Nation.

Looks fun, but still needs more pirate factions.

I wouldn't mind checking FW out but my corp/alliance wouldn't be up for it, i think Sad Anyway it's nice to know people are enjoying the changes CCP make. I hope they don't stop adding to it for at least 2 more expansions.

I'm pleased I have read this thread.

I have been toying with the idea of joining FW for some time. Seeing as I ended up joining a corp where nobody ever logs in after I completed the tutorials, it will be nice to to be able to do things with other players at last.

This thread has helped me decide. When I log in later this evening I'm going to quit my corp and join FW. The Minmatar will have a new recruit.

Protect me from knowing what I don't need to know. Protect me from even knowing that there are things to know that I don't know. Protect me from knowing that I decided not to know about the things that I decided not to know about. Amen.

I also have been toying with the idea of trying some FW.

Our little PvP corp might make a visit at some point. Can a corp join and leave FW without any issue or will it permanently destroy our standings with the opposite factions? Also, does really bad corp faction standing stop its members from entering that faction's space?

Standing loss is for shooting at enemy faction NPC, I think is the same amount as for mission agaisnt a faction. On the other side the boost you get with your faction militia seems huge to me.

Nothing prevent you entering enemy faction space. Only problem are in high sec systems faction navy NPC bugging you after some time, but they're lite and easy to skip.

But why the standing toward NPC corporation is such a concern for many? There's no real bad effect or something youc annot do. And after some time EvE universe starts to have more sense for you, with homelands, frontieers and borderlines.

Corps pop in and out of FW all the time

You can't join if your corp's standing is too low re the faction you want to join
You will trash your standings re the opposing faction(s)
You can still entire the opposing faction's space (even hisec) but the local navy will get grumpy to you
You can't activate cloaks in the opposing faction's hisec space
You can't dock in the opposing faction's FW zone

but

It's awesome fun, my other toon lives for FW

Still only got positive experiences with it.

If anything, I think all people new to the game should start with FW, such an easy way to get into EVE compared to highsec and 0.0
