How to make the inventory windows stay where I want them?

Everything was fine recently until I logged into a 2nd account. Now the item hangar has to be opened each time I dock and selected from the menu b/c it opens the ship's cargohold. Then when I undock I get 2 cargohold windows instead of 1.
