Why don't you just press the Broadcast Button ONCE and if you don't recieve reps, die, apply for reimbursement, and get another ship and get out there?

or maybe FLY LOGI SO YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE WHEN SOME IDIOT SPAMS THE BROADCAST SHIELD BUTTON WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO'S THE PRIMARY AND GET REPS ON THEM.

Finally a reply from test that actually makes sence and allows for a decent conversation and discussion. I'm very sorry but this had to be sad.

When you are fighting with large blobs, people with lower system specs may have a low fps (for example when they forgot to turn effects off), also TIDI kicks in making everything go slower. New players are somewhat disoriented because of the large amount of stuff going on (Im sure you test alliance pilots can confirm this) Unfortunately this is one of the reasons why players start spamming the broadcast button when they get targetted and shot at.
You, as a logi pilot, will gladly confirm this im sure.

Therefore, my suggestion is two-fold : Simply make the button do a animation when it gets clicked. Additionally freeze the button during this (1.4 second?) animation (duration of the anim is not affected by tidi). This tells the pilot the client registered the broadcast and therefore he wont be spam clicking it again(just incase it didnt get trough).
Spamming the button does more bad than good so why not render that button uninteractable for the duration of the animation.

All troll attempting aside.

It is an improvement on functionality of the fleet UI, does not involve extra client - server communication, only takes a coffee-break's time to implement and has no proven downsides. (so far)

All the serious feedback it received was possitive so I see no reason why not to do it.

Although it may not seem like it from the outside, there is a concept in TEST that we carry called "fleet discipline."

Basically, this is a list of voluntary guidelines that helps govern our individual behavior in fleet fights, and the benefit of everyone following these guidelines is that the efficiency of everything we do in fleet, (kill people and not die) is increased.

Now, part of "fleet discipline" is realizing that you, and your Drake, are part of a group.

Part of participating in this group requires a concept called "Faith."

Faith in your Fleet Commander to make the right calls,
Faith in your Logistics to see your broadcasts and keep you repped, and
Faith in CCP for making sure that the game works correctly.

You cannot control the calls your fleet commander makes.
You cannot control the reps that your Logis give or the priority of who needs reps.
You cannot control CCP or the errors that may happen ingame.

The only thing you CAN control in a fleet fight is making sure that when you are primaried, you click that Broadcast button ONLY ONCE to indicate you need reps.

After that, whether you live or die is out of your control. You may die in a fire. You may not be reimbursed if your fit is bad. But you have controlled everything you can control. And if you die, you can die proudly knowing that you have done your job.

Sometimes your death IS our fault, and I personally, as a Logi Anchor, am sorry for that. Sometimes we anchors lose position on the main FC because we're MWDing and we forget about that and go out of rep range and peeps die. Sometimes we don't train Logi V and run out of cap. Sometimes the enemy has alpha. But whatever the excuse, our job is to keep you alive, and when you die, that means our best wasn't good enough. And we do feel bad about that.

Please remember that us Logis, too, are terrible at this game, and we are juggling many more balls than you.
CCP too, is juggling many more balls than US, keeping track of all the godawful problems with this bad game and trying to allocate their resources to head off the nastier problems.

So please, help us, and control your finger when you are primaried. CCP, and us Logis do our jobs to the best of our ability. Please don't make our jobs harder. Please excercise "Fleet Discipline," and press the Broadcast Shield button ONLY ONCE when you are primaried.

It is a better solution that introducing some piece of code that may mess up some other part of the game.
