Life after Goonswarm?

Lets have the whiners have it, *POOF* Wish Granted. Now that Goonswarm has been utterly defeated, and their characters don't even log on to the forums anymore... What shall we do for player driven content? Shall we travel to Providence and share a cup of tea with the Curatores Veritatis? Who is going to memorize the reaction tables so we can produce Tech 2 ships again?

Hrmm... it seems like life without Goonswarm isn't much fun... how the hell did that happen?!?! The forums told me they were destroying the game!!

With all this bile and anger stirring... why do you still cheer when CCP champions "Player Driven Content" every chance they get?... You do realize Goonswarm is made of players... and they are driving.... content.

By Golly, I think i figured it out, you don't like Goonswarm because of their political system for surely empowering large populations and distributing power among the masses is just wrong!

No?

Ok well then it has to be this "Blue List" thing, your angry because Goonswarm is unwilling to co-operate and co-exist with other alliances and corporations and instead makes them allies and establishes safe transit of good and services through their space. Oh hell that sounds almost like cooperation and co-existence.

OK OK I got it, Goonswarm absorbs all these corporations and turns them into a faceless blob unable to be identified as individuals...no wait... damn it, they won't even let anyone join their corp unless they've been on the SA forums for an extended period of time.

So Goonswarm's list of CRIMES is as follows:

They establish a peaceful network of trade within null-security space.
They provide vital elements of T2 Production to high-security space, at a profit. (Damn 1%)
They provide drama, driven by players, which represents sizable content for Hi-Sec, Low-Sec and Null-Sec players.
They interact with the community in online discussion forums.

Yep, they seem like the bad guys to me.

Now with 100% less Troll.

An out-right collapse of the Goonswarm could be either a really good thing, or a really bad thing.

a) The collapse of Goons results in the CFC disbanding - the space is controlled by actively-recruiting independants
b) TEST Alliance or another large HBC/CFC alliance reclaims Goon territory

Goons aren't the only offenders, we'd need a total removal of the cultural elitists - TEST and Goonswarm would need to be completely wiped off of the map.

The goons are not usual griefers operating solely on in game mechanics. They have built entire scamming infrastructure to facilitate their need to grief and dissapoint. http://www.goonfleet.net and a variety of "alliance rental" applications are constantly being used and updated to grief - it would be hard to find another group of players to do what the goons are doing. On the other hand, TEST alliance have "borrowed" some of these techniques and are now including such infrastructures in their network.

We've also caused a 13 year old kid from the UK, to try to file a lawsuit against SomethingAwful because we wouldn't let him in our internet spaceship guild.

internet space ship games are going to be subject to invasion of internet communities. This is no different to RL, either jump on the winning team or get over it. As far as i can see, the CFC are more concerned about this MMO being a good game over winning at all costs, which is more than you can say about other alliances

One of the many goon antics which lead to nothing but further trouble and upset. It is within the game mechanics (most of the time) to cause this upset, but it is also within the game mechanics to fight against this upset-causing.

Edit: The CFC want to see a better EVE? On SA, EVE is actively marked as a "terrible" game and is only enjoyable because of the pubbie-base. It's also widely accepted in the CFC community that EVE is only doing well because it lacks competition. I disagree with these common CFC opinions.

Advocating retaliation against griefers is creepy? Hundreds of your "pubbies" do it every month.

I'm surprised nothing is being done about the irrelevant posts and personal-attacks being carried out by Goonswarm Federation on these forums.

I'm assuming by only, you're referring in general to null players?

And by offenders you mean what exactly?

Are we offending peoples senseability by understanding what EVE is? Are we offending their tastes by not being illiterate one liner trolls? Is it the ability of some to the technical and creative work needed to build a news site? Are people offended because the majority, not all mind you, of the people they recruit are recruited from outside the game? Are they offended that there exists a culture dedicated to bringing more people into EVE and making sure they have the fun needed to stay in EVE?

What exactly do you seem to think we're offenders of?

You're goals are to cause grief and upset. Your recruitment threads have graphs about the people you've upset, and your alliance presentations boast about the tears of people who have done nothing wrong to you. Admittedly, lots of 0.0 alliances do this to some extent - but TEST and Goons have setup entire infrastructures for achieving this.
