Hello everyone
I'm still new to this game and I'm training covert ops skill now.
If you guys can help me with the decision on which race should I train for the covert ops ships.
I do a lot of exploration but I would also like to start doing PVP.
So lets say I'm going to do 50% exploration and 50% PVP.
Which race will be the best? Caldari or Minmatar?

Also if you can vote in the poll and if you can comment which ship you chose and why.

http://poll.pollcode.com/1syr5v Poll for best PVP ship
http://poll.pollcode.com/9jhvuh Poll for best exploration ship

If I did something against the rules in my post please let me know so I can change it.

All stealth bombers are good, and all covert ops frigs are also equally good in the scanning part of exploration. However, the covopses are extremely limited in combat potential, which is required in all but some hisec magnetometric and radar sites. The big isk in exploration lies in combat sites aka (com)plexes. For these you need ships with dps and tank, from T1 cruisers, assault ships all they way to very pimped tech 3 cruisers depending on the difficulty level of the plex.

Actually the T1 scanning frigs are better for hisec exploration, currently the Imicus trumps competition with it's 3 drones, but they will all be nice after Retribution and will receive bonus to profession modules (codebreakers and analyzers).

As what comes to covert ops or cloaky PVP, solo stealth bombers have limited options to engage. They are almost useless against frigates, as their weapons, torpedoes do very little damage to small ships, and frigates have little trouble killing bombers. You can hunt for soft targets like industrials and mining barges, and some PVE battleships and battlecruisers. Anyway they are surely fun to fly, and you can always team up with some buddies and go after other targets. Also note that bombs can only be used in nullsec and wormholes.

If you want more versatility, look at force recons like Pilgrim, Arazu and Rapier, or aim at cloaky tech 3 cruisers. Proteus is often cited as the holy grail of cloaky pvp, and I don't disagree. It has the best tank/gank ratio of all ships that can fit a covert ops cloak plus a nice drone bay.
