In the last months Bat Country and some other high sec suicide gankers made a fortune ganking freighters in Niarja and Uedama. Now you see more and more other groups doing it also in other 0.5 systems after they found out, how easy it is.

OH GOD NOOOOOOO, stop nerfing us by flying nothing but 1 bil or empty flyings come on.

I don't remember who posted it but I saw the neat idea of 1 trit double wrapped in a fully insured freighter. You still loose money I think but if you have gankers with a short fuse, you might be the one farming tears.

It's like getting a chunk of coal for x'mas.

Faulting people who freight with loading their freighters with too much stuff...

My retort is that ships cargo holds are too big and have too much ammo....this needs a nerf.

so if a lone falcon escort put ecm on half of the suicide ganking talos' until CONCORD arrived, what would happen?

Answer: The gank would fail.

In most cases (though not always) the gank would also fail with a command ship or a logistics for escort.

Freighter ganks are a fairly exact science, with very little extra damage beyond what is necessary to get the job done thrown into the equation. It doesn't take a whole lot to throw off that equation, either by the freighter taking longer to go down than expected or by the ganking ships being unable to apply as much damage as expected.

And yes, a Falcon or even Blackbird easily has enough time to lock and jam the gank ships as they are trying to chew their way thru the freighters massive amount of hull points before Concord finishes off too many of them.

Since a smart freighter pilot knows if he is going to have to fly through a .5 bottleneck to get where he needs to go, and often will have an alt scout the gate looking for suspicious groups hanging around those gates, why would you not put that alt in a jamming ship of some sort just in case the gank squad only keeps their bumping ship near the gate?

Yes you gets Concordokken if you ECM a noncorpmate/nonGCCer in HISEC
Target paintin' & webbin' too gives you GCC

But even if there was GCC, losing a scorpion or falcon is probably preferable to losing a loot-filled jump freighter
so yeah, you can escort your freighters right now, if you wanted to, and there's no excuse not to

How many of these whale kills were auto piloting?

As someone who's boned several -A- and en garde ganks, I can attest to the fact that escorts can flub freighter ganks.

The very two weeks, it was 90% autopiloting. Then we realized we should branch out. There was far more stupid to punish.

Autopiloting expensive things in your freighter.

What's the world coming to when you do this and get ganked.

So in other words, we're pretty safe from any kind of freighter ganking nerf right now since they are far too rare, and with far too few practitioners, to be even remotely considered a problem.

But it's GANKERS.

They have to be removed to make a truly amazing EVE Online: Mining AFK and Autopiloting Far-Too-Much

CCP allowing hisec ganks to continue too much just shoots themselves in the foot, as in cost them money.

Hisec is supposed to be safe for commerce, business, travel even if it has some risk. However look at the parallel, hi sec is territorial water of the four major empires just as 12 miles off the coast of the USA is. Do you think the USA would "continue" to allow pirates to sink merchant ships in its territorial water in peacetime? Of course not. So why there are not more penalties to it in EVE hisec is beyond me, i mean...this is the future after all...far more advanced and enlightened supposedly. So the more carebears that are ganked in hisec the more they will rage quit and cost ccp money and stunt the future of EVE...just saying.

Also, i think hisec gankers are just those who cant make it in nulsec so they find ways around the intended game design and exploit a weakness to blow up easy targets. Its always been going on, always will until CCP crushes it like they did isk farmers.

I predict when CCP makes hisec far safer they will see an increase in revenue and it will force little griefer/pirate boys to move to lowsec and nulsec where they will probably die in a fire.
