so the "convo spam" exploit/breach of EULA, or whatever you call it is apparently a big deal.
the simple fix is to be able to set standing that can or cannot convo you.
example
in alliance can convo (y/n)
in corp can convo (y/n)
standings +10 can convo (y/n)
standings +5 can convo (y/n)
no standing can convo (y/n)
-5 standing can convo(y/n)
-10 standing can conv (y/n)

You can go one step further and allow us to set different CSPA taxes based on standing as well with the same breakdown.

More options for players
stops convo spam for people that aren't idiots
Gms won't have to sort through as many incident reports.

Cons
-
people who are idiots will never figure it out ( can be pro as well)
inb4 people block blues
would take some effort to do? maybe? ccp?
this thread will be moved to F&I and never be seen again

That's a bit more blanket coverage than I think I would ever use. If it's going to help you then sure, I guess. I don't see how it would affect anyone else really if you did it, it just feels to me like you might miss out by blacking out your reds.

It seems more useful to me to be able to block specific people but I think you can do that anyway, not entirely sure as I have never turned down a convo at any time.

Just because I have someone set at -10 doesn't mean they will never have something to say that I would find worth hearing.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

It doesn't address the actual issue. You don't have to see the convo requests for them to do what is intended.

That's what I was thinking.

I'm not familiar with it but blocks are handled client side so your system can still be made to lag even with that feature on

BUT

When someone has the CSPA set, does the acceptance of the price happen client side at the person to receive it or just on the side of the person sending?

If it's only on the side of the person doing the sending then, if you set a high amount (couple hundred mil or even a bil), it doesn't really matter if you get mail bombed. You just made a couple billion.
