Journal Log: 839

I had found something quite strange today as I was carrying out my usual exploration shenanigans. Unfortunately for me, my scan probes could not seem to get a good signal on this anomaly... It was almost like it was moving.
Anyways, well... Hmm...
Tomorrow will come in time.

Ha! I was not just imagining the rogue signal, it was nearly mine; but again it... moved.
My probes picked up a strange little repeating pattern.
I know now that its signal is a very pronounced source of "radio waves "- but this makes very little sense to me; how could anything emit radio waves like that?

I woke up this morning with a very bizarre case of amnesia, but thanks to my journal; I then remembered the task at hand. This time, I finally was able to pinpoint the cosmic signature and I made my way over to it. Just my luck though, as I warped in, the main signal seemed to almost disappeared off into space. However, I picked up a few souvenirs from the site. The structures I collected seemed very alien in atomic make up, and frankly; a bit primitive.
A huge field of what seemed to be, quite literally junk, all made of this strange element of what I now know is called Iro-n... I-orn? Iron. Yeah, that's it. But from what I've heard, the iron we use never comes in a pure state; only in rust or in booster ingredients. Who knew that it could be used for construction?

So, apparently CONCORD just had to get in the way of this one. My team spent nearly 60 days working on this project, but then; loooong after we assume that what we are doing is legal, CONCORD tells us that we broke some "Safety Rule" or something. It's not like we were making weapons or anything... We were simply researching the many properties of iron to make the world easier to deal with for the average Joe. Think of everything iron can do that titanium can't... It doesn't collapse easily, it is very malleable, it can be melted down with ease, and some equations point out the possibility of "double bonding" the iron molecules to make even stronger material; that wouldn't even rust!
But now, NOW IT'S ALL USELESS!
