EVIL DEAD remake ... WHY? :(

Just saw the trailer, and honestly, it totally lost the ambient, mood, dark humor and ... Bruce Campbell ... Sad

I mean, it just ends up being a lame goryfest grindhouse cheap movie ...

For the gore Fulci, Deodato and D´Amato did way better gory movies back in the 70s than most "oh so shocking ERMAHGERD" movies of today (when they used chicken blood and actual cow intestines instead of the latex and cheap plastics of today)

Even the modern "Cabin in the Woods" got some of the dark humor and was a fitting tribute to old classic horror movies than this ANOTHER FAILED remake , no really, why remakes? WHY?

Just pissed off at Hollywood trying to ruin everything with reboots that dont make sense.

I hope everyone in this film dies a horrible death and becomes poor because the communities of the world made the actors pay for their movie to be watched because it is the ultimate hell.

aye,

you got a film that appealed to an audience for teenagers in the 80's. which is now being remade...does beg the question as to why they bothered remaking something.

Nostalgia?

Well, I won't go and see it - not because of having my childhood memories trashed or anything like that, but because of the same reason I don't ride a skateboard anymore or drink coke.

Hell, IF I did go watch it, I'd probably be thinking "screw it, let them die - dumb teenagers opened the book of the dead and decided to read from it, fuckin' idiots...go get a job you slackers!"

So, this movie can't be for me, because I won't give a flyin' fuckin' chainsaw for the people in it being slaughtered - so why bother?

Why didn't they just make "slasher movie #58 1/2" and put as the slogan "it's got boobs and blood in it" and just turn a profit using tried and tested methods.

C'mon Hollywood, you need to work on your logic a little bit - are you really going to remake everything from the 80's, 90's, 00's because of 'brand recognition' when the people who remember that brand and no longer giving a damn about that brand anymore?

'like, I saw back to the future in the 80's, you're not going to remake that using the 1950's as the backdrop to the movie are you? NO - you're gonna use the 80's as the backdrop and the futuristic setting would be 2050, not 2015.

Do the math ffs, your logic is flawed.

Give hollywood another year, and we will get more remakes of remakes.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Will flop as badly as.... another thing that flops, badly.

You'll get a few kids who've never heard of the original excited about it, but anyone who likes the originals will be violently opposed to this. It's like remaking Grease, or The Rocky Horror Picture show.

Bruce Campbell-- what a classic guy. Just the perfect amount of horror show campy-ness and hammy-ness in his acting. The guy doing the role now might as well not even try to replicate it.

"The Thing"

Original (1951)
John Carpenter remake (1982)
Crappy Recent version (2011)

John Carpenter 'version' is the superior one.

Except this is not Hollywoods idea. Bruce Campell said himself a couple of years after the third Evil Dead, that he would like to make a remake of the first one.

People were hoping for a Evil Dead 4, but Bruce confirmed the remake in it's stead

It just occurred to me this would be the 4th remake of it.

'Within the Woods' was the first version. Evil Dead was a remake of that, and Evil Dead 2 was a remake of the first Evil Dead, even if it was titled as a sequel. They just added something to the end in order to set up Army of Darkness.

So, enough already. There's some interesting continuations of the story which happened in official video games i'd rather see made into movies.

The 2011 movie was a prequel to John Carpenter's movie. It was set in the Norwegian camp that they find in the 1982 film. Kind of hard to care for any of the characters when you already know none of them are going make it.

But yes, the John Carpenter movie was an excellent monster movie. They don't make those any more, CG spoils the suspense. Prometheus came close.

Did anyone watch "The Woods"? It reminds me of Evil Dead a tiny bit... There are vines that grab girls, Bruce Cambell, a big house in a remote location, some ritual. Other than that it's meh.
