You'd be surprised. I've had some absolute doozies, and petitioned with screenshots, even videos. Apparently CCP doesn't accept player submissions as proof, even logs from our end, since we could edit them.

Which kind of begs the question, why do we even have logs?

Calling it now, CCP will sit there with their fingers in their ears, eyes closed, screaming "LALALALALALA THE LOGS SHOW NOTHING".

It sucks to lose ships to bugs but if you are moving to planetside 2 upset over a bug then you will be even more disappointed by that game.

Losing in-game effort to a bug, which is CCP's problem, is just too fun-breaking for me. Hopefully they fix it

Stupidity and then inability to accept the loss of virtual spaceships do not count as "bugs".

????

Calm down there sir. From my screen you can obviously see that yes I was 500km off gate. You guys were telling me you were seeing me 500km off as well. That's not stupidity.

Don't come on here and act e-cool and tough. I've already stated I intended to die (which is why I'm flying solo), but dying in such a situation is disappointing.

In other words, please stfu

edit: I am surprised at the number of moronic posts in this thread. If you're a player who has never encountered this before, how are you supposed to magically know it's a desync? Telling me I should have known it was a desync is not very helpful. I've never had this problem once in my career playing EVE, funny it should happen when I roll out a t3 1 jump into null sec.

Thanks for everyone who had something useful to say and explained what happened to me.

For everyone else, there's mastercard..or something like that.

Only 2 of us (Iberians) saw what really happened there, Evil and ME. The rest of the fleet just saw the engage as a NORMAL engage. This is what happened Vulix; when Oxy and the rest of the guys entered into PF you was near the gate... because you was warp disrupted, but in YOUR client you warped without problems and you was looking us at 523km.

My initial thoughts were something like...you know; this guy is using an "exploit" or cheats, we were shocked when we saw you warping out with a disruptor on you.

But the real fact is that we would have killed you with or without this bug. You was doing it really bad moving around there with a proteus and you was caught (remember that you was warp disrupted but your client ****** you).

I really hope that CCP takes a look on this because this is an annoying BUG. And I won´t mention here about your "trashtalk" in local during all the day in FD-MLJ before your loss, that was very shameful tbh.

Kind regards o/

That doesn't matter. The fact is, this bug completely prevented him from fighting back. If he had been able to, who knows what would have really happened?

I understand that, I know the other guys who jumped in probably saw something that looked normal. I'm not blaming you guys at all, you did what anyone should do in that situation. Just disappointed in the circumstances, you know?

I don't even care much if CCP reimburses, I would just like them to say something and so far they have ignored this thread as well as my petition, which is pissing me off much more than the loss

Judging solely by the screenshot. If this ain't reimbursable, CCP should just remove any reimbursement policy altogether imo.

Not really, i mean that could be a modified client for all they know.

Of course, but even if the server logs shows nothing it doesn't mean there's nothing wrong. The desync issue is one of those things that may or may not even prompt a flag on CCP's logs; it might not even traceable at all. Same as why CCP haven't been able to pinpoint what's been causing the gate/bridge jump desyncs (the grid not loading issue). The logs hadn't been able to provide them with a cause let alone the solution and they still asking players to post more bug reports almost for that very reason.

My point is, even when something's not showing on their logs, doesn't necessarily mean the fault is on client side. There can be a number of reasons. While it's true that screenshots sometimes means nothing, logs are also not something that they should be solely based on for reimbursements.

Yeah but for reimbursement it must be proven, otherwise the game breaks, and if its not on server side they can't prove it unless they impound people pcs or other such extremes.

I love the way everyone has ignored the chat window, where the aggressor is boasting that he has a CONCORD Modified WS, i.e the meta14, GM only item.

I love how willing you are to be convinced that this being a exploit rather than being a connection issue and perpetrator that trolls his victim in soon-to-be-dead Proteus?

Did you accept religion into your life as well?

When this happens to single individual, well crap happens.

When this happens to several individuals, well connexion stuff, IPS whatever excuse because it's always others fault yada ya

When this happens repeatedly for MONTHS and CCP answers to you they need logs to EVENTUALLY fix it, then I have a problem.
Maybe you don't and it's ok if you're on the side of those hitting the magic button to get cookies, I'm on the cookies side atm and this doesn't makes me laugh at all, specially with CCP natural claiming for recognising you got fücked and they will fix it so you get yours stufz back.

This means never, ever, will happen some day before your bone are turned in to dust (514?)

The rest of your post makes me think about some guys I met in some game were dev's/mods were trying to explain to some guy that using "hacks" was wrong, but he was still claiming of all his dictionay wording that he wasn't doing it! -no, was the game faul if he could log in with a whatever party program running and shoot everything in the map without getting a single dmg point.
We were absolutely all wrong, he was the one right. We were just to stupid to understand it.

Is there any one capable to explain with clear arguments when Darwin law fails and the consequences of it?

Hello All,

I would like to add my point of view from my vantage point since i had a big part in this engage.

I was in the adjecent system (PF) with an alt were my corp mates initiated the engement, and with my second alter which was in FD, I observed that another corp mate pushed the proteus into PF by engaging it and forcing the proteus to jump into PF, were my corp mates awaited for the proteus(Vulix) to jump to them.

Vulix, through out the day kept jumping back and forth from PF to FD and trolling in local and insulting our inability to tackle him.
He began to allow himself to get warp scram and aggro from us and then jump thru the gate. His statements made us believe that he had support in the adjecent system. He seemed at first to be bait and we were a bit hesitant to engage.

He became such a pest that finally, we decided to take him out. So we prepared some ceptors with sensor boosters and remote sensor boosters.

http://www.iberians.org/kb/?a=search&p=adv_search&act=go&invshipclass=all&invpilot=OxyG3n2143&destroyedshipclass=40&sysrange=0&killperpage=25&phpbb3_s2387_k=e9e92d9e88ba58ca&phpbb3_s2387_sid=d36a823d47231b524f5c57c50d838873&phpbb3_s2387_u=65

As you can see from the killmails most of the time tech III's are fitted with "Covert Ops Reconfiguration" and "Interdiction Nullfier"
as a way to avoid being trap in gate camps or warp bubbles. So when tech III's die its either due to lag on their end or due to
our awasome tacklers. But sometimes its due to their horrible pilot skills.

Seconds after Vulix entered into PF I heard one of my corp mates call out "point", which was music to my ears but it lasted very short because seconds later I heard the same corp mate say "Vulix had warp to a tacical". So I figured that he might be fitted with "warp stabs".

At this point I jumped into PF with my main from Orvolle and warped straight to the FD gate. When I stoped at the FD gate I noticed that the Proteus "Vulix" was decloacked at 12 km from the FD gate and I did not detect any movement.

I put scram on him and begin to orbit him at 500 meters with the AB activated.

Then Vulix begin to return fire however, he kept missing me due to tracking.

Shorlty after the ship exploded.

This is all I observed from my vantage point.

Personally I did not witnessed anything strange visually or on my overview, but one thing is for sure. I heard my mates say that
he was able to warp out with warp disruption on him. which like I said before my first thought was that he might be fitted with warp stabs or that he was using some sort of a cheating bug that allowed him to warp out.

We in Iberians hope that it was some sort of a bug and that it should be resolved as soon as possible however, Im more incline to think that it was a server node bumped secondary to lag on his end.

Overview is public Enemy number one.

At least you got to see your ship as it died.

Used to be a bug where you undocked and got a black screen if there were over 100 outside undock (fairly average event in null sec).

By the time you had reloaded you lost everything.

Epic!

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

I lost a Vaga a few months ago due to the client locking up and not taking input. I didn't whine about it.
