It still shows the log saying your ship can't lock warp on target because distance blahblah or you're not in range to approach, while this is nothing when you're the single dude at whatever point in the game, it's the assurance of your ship/pod death when some other dudes in system hunting targets.

Since my fresh computer is so bad to play Eve it's better to just log for skills and then go play something else without desync problems

Hmm...Last week I was fighting a slasher with a rifter (somewhere in vale). The slasher pulled out when he was about to hit structure. He was still flashing red and was over 200Ks from me. I was not taking damage though but it was a bit weird.

Could there be a bug in the game ?

Well if anyone did notice they didn't care, not even dev hax mods can increase lock range beyond 249k, its hard coded. It only has a 24k range anyway so whats your point?

Of course, but even if the server logs shows nothing it doesn't mean there's nothing wrong. The desync issue is one of those things that may or may not even prompt a flag on CCP's logs; it might not even traceable at all. Same as why CCP haven't been able to pinpoint what's been causing the gate/bridge jump desyncs (the grid not loading issue). The logs hadn't been able to provide them with a cause let alone the solution and they still asking players to post more bug reports almost for that very reason.

My point is, even when something's not showing on their logs, doesn't necessarily mean the fault is on client side. There can be a number of reasons. While it's true that screenshots sometimes means nothing, logs are also not something that they should be solely based on for reimbursements.

If you fitted your proteus for 8bil, you deserved to lose it, period. Not even the beariest wormholer would do sleepers in a fit that expensive. (and now SOMEONE is going to find a killmail to disprove me, i just know it, but serioulsy, fitting anything smaller then a carrier with more then 3bil in equipment is ridiculous)

This dude either had desync issues, or had been modifying HIS OWN CLIENT somehow.

Oxygen jumped into PF-346 from Orvolle, jumped straight to the FD gate and found this dude there, 12.5Km from the gate.

His Dramiel tackled his ship and they started shooting each other. Oxygen was orbiting him at 500, with AB turned on and the Proteus had no web. Eventually the Dramiel got reinforcements because family pictures are so much more fun.

He was definitely not at 500Km and our pilots thought he was haxx0ring somehow.

Also, he lost his Proteus NOT to a Dramiel, but to a Dramiel, a Cynabal, a Stabber, a Stiletto and a Taranis.

He DID seem to cry a hell of a lot in Local, but the 2.6 billions he dropped were well worth putting him out of his misery.

I would like him to petition: then MAYBE we'll know if he was indeed trying to cheat. Other than that, the kill is pretty standard and he will of course not get refunded.

He got engaged from 12.5 away, not 500. Sitting alone...in his expensive Proteus...by himself...in Syndicate...at a gate...not aligned.

Seriously now, it's either an overview bug or more probably a desync issue, as we (the aggressors) also saw it and laughed quite a bit. Either this, or he tried to modify his client and it backfired.

Also, there were five pilots involved in his demise, not "a Dramiel". Although, judging by the amount of damage he tanked and his piloting style, the Dramiel alone would have been more than enough.

And a Velator too, given enough time.

That's for sure. Desync or not, I believe you have a valid case for recompensation. 512K's, holy crap.
