it takes such a short time to train into a retriever i just dont understand why you would spend that time training into a mining frigate. the first mining frigates were available after training the racial frigate skill. this mining frigate, which will probably require a special skill, won't replace a mining barge. I guess if you just really dont want to train astrogeology then the frigate makes sense.. other than that. useless

I actually like the look of the new Minmatar destroyer.
It looks crude, clumsy, brutal, completely lacking in subtlety and grace.
Like a big plank with a nail through it.
The epitome of Brutor design philosphy.

Check the role/skill bonuses again.

CCP means this to be the dedicated gas harvester ship.

And to be 'ninja lowsec miner'........

Given that you can stick a cloak on it, and it has a built-in +2 stabby, I can see this as a very cheap alternative for miners trying to sneak into low/null to get zydrine and such.

Probably has cruiser-level EHP on it, if you stick a DCII in the low instead of a mining upgrade....

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

The mining frigate looks very much like what I would expect a mining frigate to look like. Very industrial looking. I like.

No, it's a proper Glass Joe, the DCU doesn't really help. The frigate's defenses are an align time on par with interceptors and a +2 warp strength.

I built and have been flying the Min Destroyer too. Great to fly but so crap to look at I'll probably fly the Caldari one instead.
The snow plough on a 'thing' look just doesn't work.

The Ore Frig looks good, the Destroyer is still disappointing. But that is how the ball bounces I suppose.

A. Empire miner frigs for rookies will be no more.
B. Empire miner cruisers for rookies will be no more.
C. New ORE frig will be the first miner rookies will fly after rookie ship.
D. You wont have a choice as Miner Frig skill IV will eventually be necessary to reach mining barges. (not required for us older players)
E. With Gas bonus fully skilled, it will equal 5.25 gas turrets. Better than any BC plus has 5k m3 ore bay.

Pretty sure it has enough CPU to do that, if not then definitely with POC rigs.

Cool fit, and nice profesion ( scaning gas sites) but in fact mining is big crap ( i say this even im ex miner who mining ore 2 years long while i start play EvE actualty +6 year player) i got orca on main and alt who can mine ice and ques what - like 10-15 mil isk per hour ;), gas sites even worse than ice, because random low quality gas with small amount + factor of spent time to scaning sites before mining, so in fact you can scan 5 hours long before you find gas site worth 6mil isk after 2 hours of mining...

I can earn 100-150 mil isk on misions lvl 4 if i got mission like wc, gone berserk etc, per hour while use dual tengu or tengu + naga, zero balance betwen long therm mining and mission runing.

Big waste of time, until you got like 8 alts with mining barge + one orca ;) but if you create like 8 tengu alts you can earn like1bil per hour if you are good with multitasking hehehe.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.
