You getting bumped? set your ship to an orbit, when your cargo hold is full dump the stuff in station. Or use the help of the ORCA.

Yeah, all miners should orbit because it still doesn't work.

Confirming orbiting icicles does not make you invulnerable to bumping, ask anybody in Halaima & more recently Tolle.

It's called leading the target, much as you would do in clay pigeon shooting.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

This will likely ensure that CCP looks into the somewhat immersion breaking bumping mechanics we currently enjoy in EVE. Smile

Bugger Sad, although leading the target is based on real physics so technically its not completely immersion breaking. What is immersion breaking is the size of the collision area on rocks and ice, if I'm 500-1000m from a rock I shouldn't bounce off the thing.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Surely someone can find something in the EULA for it?

We had a clause that covered miners watching TV apparently. (the BOT clause - lol)...

C'mon, there's gotta be SOMETHING?!!

Depends where the distance sensor is on a ship 800m long.

None of this will save you from getting bumped!

2. The maturity level is strong with this one.

3. I'm not good at these puzzles; please explain.

4. Ermahgerd according to google, which would make this, 'omg bumpings', amiright?

5. memes are childish but amusing; these are apparently a worse form of meme. Making fun of people with speech impediments; shame on you.

..also, calling or suggesting players are stupid when you're a Dev is bad. This particular form of meme is intended to suggest the person it is directed at is stupid, while also implying that people with speech impediments are stupid. win-win?

That may change at some point in the future, but current graphics tech can't handle real collisions.

why is noone using a skiff instead, its pretty close to a mack for mining capability?

A lot of people had Macki's from before the buff. Skiff was never used so nobody owns them. You are right on the actual Ice mining ability and 15 blocks between drops is more than enough wait time.

Plus, a Skiff gives you a bit more piece of mind, which makes the 30 or so minutes in-between station runs more relaxing.

Although with a maximum boosted skiff you actually have about 15 minutes between drops. That messes with the AFK'ers mindset. You actually need to think when you mine like that, and that is almost as hard as thinking about at least some form of tank on the mack.

Doesn't CCP realize this is making it almost impossible to mine Ice?

I have already lost TWO MACKINAWS!!!

I'm only posting on an alt so i don't get hunted down and killed AGAIN.

I am so tired of this.

How are we supposed to mine like this?

I hate those stupid goons.

Don't mine ice in Gallente High-sec, then. Problem solved. Also, stop AFK-mining. Nobody likes AFKers, except the AFKers themselves. You're just making yourself a very easy target, both for Goonswarm and for James 315's Bumping-fleets. If you still insist on AFKing, suck it up. You choose to mine where Goons are, you basically choose to lose your ship.

Also, CCP allows Goons to gank you because they're just interacting with other players and creating emergent gameplay. They couldn't care less about a single Miner who chooses to make bad decisions (such as mining in a system where Goons have a gang flying around).

Aren't you just so hard core?

Look OP, it's simple. I know, most miners want to solo, more profits are had etc...but for now, make a compromise.

Jump clone away to a completely different and empty system, and mine everything to your heart's content.

Grab someone with an Orca and some tanked mining barges and afk/semi-afk. Watch a movie, chat together, do whatever.

Hire some neutral remote reppers in T2 ships to make a rep web, along with a few smaller ships to counter bump bumpers.

There's many ways to counter this. If you don't like any, vote with your wallet with this outrage and let CCP know you don't pay to play a game to get stressed out. Tell your miner friends the same. I did.

Not really. I just don't understand why people choose to mine in the same systems Goons are killing Miners in, and then complain about being ganked. If it was me, I'd just move over to another system, most likely in another empire.

Adapting is tough. I can see it from their way. Why are they allowed to be bullied from where they want to be and where they can make the most profits? Why should THEIR gameplay style change because some douche wants to ruin someone's day?

If this was me a year ago, I'd be thinking just like them, as if it was a direct affront to my pride.

Then I remembered this is a game and my real life is awesome :3

Putting a mod and some rigs on a boat, or moving to a different system isn't really "changing their gameplay style", certainly not now after CCP's given in to their "oh god I can't adapt" ways.

Its funny. Over the last few months miners have been cheastbeating and yelling with glee at gankers to adapt. But the second we do they start crying that its unfair they have to adapt themselves...

Starmap info.

Aydoteaux 0.7 sec - Ships destroyed in the last 24 hours: 0

Ignebaener 0.5 sec - Ships destroyed in the last 24 hours: 12

Perhaps some people should up sticks to Aydoteaux for safer mining?

Just some food for thought on the matter.

After all it's a bit daft to keep sheep where they keep being eaten by wolves.

Be honest, if you pvp'd for fun and needed isk to fund your fun, would you not afk mine to make that money? Or would you eagerly stare at those rocks?
