Used EFT to create an Energy Stable CNR, that used Gist Large Booster (500mil at that time).
Grinded for a week to get that money.
Finally got it, docked to Jita 4-4 in a Bestower, buy the booster, put it into cargo, undock, bstower goes pop... WTF did just happen?
And so i learned to be hasty with nice modules in cargobay. Created instawarp bookmark 1000km from that station, and usually haul expensive thingies in a ship with almost insta align.

I never really made any big money-related errors in my EVE career, because I was already a huge cynic when I started playing during my teenage years. (Is that normal?) But as part of the learning process, I did make some hilarious pvp-related derps throughout the years.

For example, shortly after I started playing almost eight years ago, my friend and I came across an afk pod at a high-sec gate. The pilot was very, very old, even by the standards of the time we played in. So, we decided to kill it, just for fun. We decided that I, being of higher security status, should use a Kestrel to pop him. So I grabbed a Kestrel, fit light launchers on it, and came back. I shot the pod, and instantly exploded.

"Well, that didn't do much" he said. Indeed, by the time I came back, the pod was at full health. I tried to give it another go, switching up the setup slightly to increase outgoing damage. Same result. The pod maybe had a sliver of armor missing. A few more attempts and an hour later, it was decided that this wasn't going anywhere. So I got the big guns this time. It was a destroyer or a cruiser, but either way, it did the job.

Extremely satisfied with the possession of my very first frozen corpse, I went to dock at my station to wait out the last GCC. Twenty minutes later, I undocked in my normal ship.

"What?"
"Oh-oh."
"Dude, what?"
"Your sec status :V"
"Uh, wtf? Why didn't you tell me this would happen?"
"I didn't know it would take that much off :V"

I guess after multiple Kestrel attempts (no weapon groups, and most of the launchers probably never even connected) and the actual kill, I got pushed down to something like -4. Boy was it fun grinding that back up when I only had a quarter of a million skillpoints.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Margin trade scam, got me spending 600mil on an officer mod to fill a buy order 2 regions away for 1 bill...

Trained up Margin Trading 5, put the mod up for sale for 800 mil, put a buy order up for 1bil and put some cash on an alt

bam a week later, 200 mil profit

I somehow never learned how to properly fit PvE ships

As such, I lost a Raven to the first mission I went on and promptly trained and got a tengu.
Tengu was so cash

then I lost it to awoxers

Travelling through lowsec in my brand new Moa, I couldn't believe how much the rat bounties were. So I found a nice system named Fliet and happily shot rats for about 20 minutes. I had found this really nice and juicy 500,000 ISK battleship on a gate and I was grinding it down; it paid more than the level 2's I was running, and these rats were everywhere!

Suddenly my shields disappear and my armor is gone! Looking around me to see whats happening my ship suddenly blows up and I'm sitting in my pod. I specifically remember thinking, "****, might as well jump out and replace my ship" I had made enough to buy a new one. "Why won't the gate let me jump? Hmmm...."

That's about the time I woke up in station.

Fit a Brutix (my first BC) with a Smartbomb for a MISSION (pesky Frigates)Oops, undocked, and somehow or another activated the damn thing, hitting several people within range, and maybe even scorched a Pod (I took like 0.something security standing down to -1.7), promptly got sentry gunned and then Concord finished me off. Then, in a rush to retrieve my loot and being ignorant of aggresion mechanics, undocked in my only Vexor (though I did still have a Thorax), which was also dispatched by sentry guns.

Someone in Local lol'ed at me and informed me that I was going to have to wait 15 minutes. When I undocked, someone had even salvaged my damn wreck, and jetted the metal scraps that it produced. . . . .

Still on my trial account a friend told me that security status let you kill people in high sec.

His logic was concord think you're a straight up guy so give you a pass. I tried ganking an autopiloting badger in a tristram if memory serves which of course didn't go well. Got massive lols in corp chat.

Back in the day (around mid-August, mid-September 2003) I had this vexor, fitted for mining. In the utility slot i had a smartbomb.

I was happily mining in a belt in Masalle using a jet can. Along comes an ore thief who nabs my ore, I decided to smack him with the smartbomb. I think you can guess the rest.

The ore thief scooped my loot can and LOL'ed in local. Was a sad day. Thank you to Filterus for loaning me enough ISK to get a new vexor.

Made a mining although and trained him for hulks.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Read this thread. Seriously though, roamed around looking for solo fights in lo/null for a few weeks before learning the hard way out EVE is not really a 1v1 game. You're either part of a blob/gate camp or a victim.
