Anyone who hasn't figured out that the EVE forums are a giant Psychological warfare exercise by the end of their first year are not paying attention.

the objective from all indicated intel i can garner in game is to keep people from believing they can dig into nullsec like a tick and start taking their own space from the power blocs.

the secondary objective is to keep the majority of players hemmed in and herded in a place where they believe themselves safe where they can be culled at leisure, for maximum rage and personal amusement, market warfare objectives or system control objectives.

In short, the sheep are kept in the paddock where they can be slaughtered at leisure.

Confirming this thread is awesome.

Also, I hate the fact people spend all their time complaining. The worst part is that most of these whiners don't actually think about their posts. The AFK cloak whiners are some of the worst, but a lot of people just open up threads that are basically "WHHHHAAAAAAAA, NERF EVERYONE ELSES' GAMEPLAY!"

I really need to stop reading them. There's no content or logic in most of them anyway. They just make me so angry sometimes. I'm going to give myself a stomach ulcer reading them. I don't have any responsibility to stick up for CCP, but I can't stand all these idiots just throthing at the mouth, being unappreciative stupid whining ass-holes bitches.

The problem is that people have ways they love to play games like this, and ways they can't stand. This naturally leads to a tendency of seeing the way they play the game as the 'best' way, and the way they hate to play it as the 'wrong' way.

These people I can actually sympathize with, on many levels it's a bit of an automatic, unconscious response. Not many people are used to stopping and thinking why they hold an opinion, it' difficult to do, it just seems so obvious.

Unfortunately I think we can all agree that there are people around on EV E who go way, waaay beyond this in terms of aggression. It's understandable, EVE is a game that attracts and in many ways rewards that type of personality.

Really everyone just has to see that sure it may not be all that fun for you that those kids in the other part of the sandbox are doing things you don't like... but it's less fun for EVERYONE when the sandbox gets taken away entirely. Live and let live, and if you feel you really have to do something, do it within the mechanics of the game instead of trying to destroy their part of the sandbox.
