Might want to fix your story's consistency. vOv

In another thread he claims he's setup an industry pos in nullsec that magically makes Maelstroms cheaper to produce in null than to say ... import.

And he claimed he could make things cheaper in hisec in a POS than I could in a station, too. I've absolutely no idea how, but there you go. vOv

Well the 'problem' is that a minority can jam up the playstyle of the majority. In real life this happens and forces people to put up fences, lock doors, carry firearms and generally be paranoid - because 1% of the population wants to take more from society than they give.

Eve is played because it involves risk -- you take out the wolves and you take out the majority of the risk. Too much risk and people won't play, too little risk and people will grow bored. So you need to find a sweet spot between anarchy (where only the wolves (who are the minority) want to play) and play land where no one is at risk of losing anything but respawning a few minutes away (yea I am looking at you other MMOs).

As long as the risk falls betwixt these two goal posts -- ITS GOOD. If it falls outside either well its not good (and people will leave the game). I do not believe it falls outside either.

I do think there should be a way to track down a cloaked ship that has been in the same exact spot for hours. They can do this in Star Trek I think with ion trails or some other made up nonesense. It should be tedious and need its own manual - but it should be possible if the conditions are filled.

AFK cloakers are not a problem....

While they also help mitigate the omniscient "local chat" being used as an intel tool, they help exacerbate unbalanced hotdrop mechanics....

At this point, your post hit 0% credibility because 99% of arguments using this line to support them have 1% of a chance to be bullshitting 73% of their data.

It's actually easy to "fix".

I could take an Interceptor to a system, warp to a safe spot and just go, by the time you scan it down it's somewhere else off grid. You won't catch it but you can still scan it down and know it's an interceptor. You know the threat it presents.
With AFK cloaks, you don't know what is cloaked. it might be an Anethema, it might be a Falcon.

A probe that scans for cloaked ships to let people know what they have in system is more than enough. It doesn't need to be a scan that gives you a warp in point, just one that gives you a ship type.

I don't see the act of being AFK and cloaked as the problem. I see the problem as in there is no way to counter the AFK cloaker. He may not be there but he is effecting the game by being AFK in a system while 100% immune to any form of threat whatsoever. And yes...the presence of another player does effect miners and ratters who are legitimately playing the game because they don't know if that cloaked ship is AFK or not. They also don't know if that ship has a cyno or other threats on board. The benefit of being in system whether it be physical or psychological is being granted to a player that is not at his PC and can stay in the system gaining the benefit without ever touching his keyboard.

Afk cloakers can't harm you, if they can harm you then they are not afk.

Fit up a perma-4km/s (or whatever it is you can perma-squeeze out of those things) frig, aim somewhere, engage rockets, go afk, be just as safe as an afk cloaker. vOv

AFK cloaking exposes the greediest, most cowardly pilots in EVE. It's great.

a bloo bloo I want to be a carebear in nullsec but there's an inactive player in local with me a bloo bloo

I only wish I had more characters to dedicate to afk cloaking

^^ this had a QUESTION mark querying the POSTER.

Also. Never made Maelstroms. What I said is we ADAPTED and used our POS's to produce instead of WHINING about lack of slots.

If ya gonna shitpoast and least make it ******* believable. Can't win a ******* argument so just lie instead. JFC.... Roll

I never respond in local. Its called giving me a tactical advantage. Its like ppl in wh's who pick you up on scan then talk in local. If i dont respond then they wont know if im still there, or jumped out.

Also not responding in local seems to wind some ppl up for some reason....
