Problem with AFK Cloaking?

How do you KNOW they are afk?

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

They're not AFK, they're just pretending to be AFK because they can't think of anything cool to say.

The problem with AFK cloaking is the AFK part. If they actually had to be playing while camping a system it would be fine.

AFK cloaker is afk and poses no threat to you.

End of story.

How do you camp a system when you're AFK and can't do anything?

I don't understand, how is AFK cloaking OP? Ed: can we have a comment from some AFK cloaker or something? If they're such a huge problem, they should be around.

AFK Cloaking is just a lame tactic. It's boring, predictable and a bit crap. It's a mechanic that shouldn't really exist.

On the other hand you can always just all move system, if the afk cloaker realises and follows you then all you need to do is move again then wait to kill him. Most the time they wont even realise for hours, in which case you probably wont even know they move.

So not matter how lame the tactic is I've never stopped ratting due to AFK cloakers because I move, so I'm not fussed about seeing it as a top priority.

I want cloaks to remove the pilot of the cloaked ship from local chat.

Nothing seen, nothing feared. Cool

Just to be clear: Totally remove. Cloaked players can't chat in local or see chat in local because the local chat window is gone.

Decloaking reconnects to local chat and frequencies, reopening the local chat window.

Simple.

If they're posting, they're at their keyboard. So they're not AFK.

So... what I'm gathering is that, since cynos are the problem with AFK cloaking, then the problem rests with the strength and proliferation of capital/supercapital ships, not with the act of AFK cloaking itself.

Correct?

Most cyno capable cloakies (if not specifically there for system denial) are for blops, not caps.

A common error in 0.0 - we're cyno jammed therefore we are safe from blops.

It happens.

(don't even need to be a cloaky much these days either - I jumped my clone to station into 6V the other day and all the ratters docked - funny as)

Was it you I saw dock in 9DQ in a ratting boat the other day when I showed up. Was it you who whined in local because I wouldn't leave?

Or was it your other EO mates?

I can't fathom why anyone thinks they're a problem. If they end up in your system, just move next door. If your too scared to move from one system to another then you shouldn't be out in nullsec. If they follow you into the new system you know they're not afk. In which case, chase them.

I've seen it happen. AFK cloaker off of a jump bridge waited for haulers. Saw one get caught as I zipped by in a shuttle.

You never know if they are AFK or not. I make a point to not talk in local if I'm doing cloaky stuff. I don't want people to know if I'm active, or how active I am.

Might want to fix your story's consistency. vOv

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.
