Let’s say I am mining with an alt in high-sec space, combat drones deployed in aggressive mode. Someone comes in with a PvP fit, steals from a rat wreck making him red on my screen. If he starts flying around my drones will they auto-attack him making me vulnerable to attach, or am I “safe”?

That happened to me last night, I just happened to flip to my alt screen and saw a blinking red guy fast approaching my mining barge. Luckily I saw it and put my drones up. He could not legally attack me so he just few around for a while and left. But I got to thinking, what if I didn’t spot him? Would my drones have gotten me into a fight that would have killed me?
