So when on grid with a District satellite, you can't cloak? or?

I read that as "If your ship is on grid with a District satellite, you can cloak, but the satellite itself will still appear on the Overview, system-wide".

Which means that if you see one other character in local, and there's one District satellite on Overview, you know where that character is even if they cloak.

I take it there's some sort of a "ship detector beacon" on the satellites that can detect cloaked ships and let the whole system know there's a ship within its "range".

Confirming you can cloak while on grid with a satellite but it still knows you are there and will indicate that someone is present on grid, just not specifically who or where.

Of course the real catch is, once you are at the satellite yourself you won't know whether they are still there or not.

So does the way dust affects fw mean ccp is going to renege on their promise to not make dust affect null sov?

Maybe i am confused on it but it sounds a lot like how a beacon works someone opens it up and then it shows up on the overview. Someone goes to the district it opens up and shows on the overview

I may be reading too much into this, but "how many temperate planets are present during deployment time" makes it sound like either the number of planets may be changing or some planets may be converted to temperate planets. Anyone in the know care to comment?

Also it seems weird that you can only warp to district satellites when there is a battle going or when you're already there. Shouldn't they be available all the time? Bombardment ships are going to want to be able to get into position before battles start, as will anti-bombardment fleets.

I hope this can be used as framework to 'satellite all the things'.

You can warp to them they just do not show up on the overview. You have to right click in space and open them off the planet drop down.

It may read better as "During deployment time, systems may change in or out of a vulnerable state depending on how many temperate planets are present"

We have no plans to change the distribution of planets, however we may choose to adjust the districts in a future release.

WTF.

Not only have they never made such a promise, they have in fact actively made it as clear as they possibly can that DUST WILL influence nullsec sov. It's one of the game's selling points. It's sort of their primary objective.

People criticize CCP for some really dumb ship sometimes, but this is about the worst I've ever seen. It's silly to accuse them of reneging on a promise they never actually made. It's just plain absurd to accuse them of reneging on a non-existent promise that is diametrically opposed to their stated intentions and game plan.

Quick question.

Each planet has multiple districts from my understanding. If a planet becomes "contested" by Dust514, so it's not 100% Amarr controlled, does it still apply the bonus/penalty for Victory points? Or is it broken down some other way?

Where I am.

I think thats unknown even by CCP at this point. They need to get the frame work battle tested on TQ. Game balance and answers to that question will come from the dust side of the house and they are keeping it very quite.

The bonus is adjusted based on the percentage of districts owned by the faction.
