Wouldnt worry about it, the game will be dead in 6 weeks and abandoned in 3 months.

That is your personal opinion, which yes you are entitled to...

but please stop stating it as fact. you're probably wrong.

I remember the same thing being said about counterstrike, day of defeat and many other games during their beta.

There is a huge difference between DUST and these games, and it is a factor that will likely keep people comming back.
Persistance.

The world is not just a series of battles that have no effect other than to modify your personal Kill/Death ratio.
You'd be surprised how many people will forgive problematic gameplay simply because their actions can have a lasting effect on the game world.

While I am sure there are a several thousand players who will...there are millions who won't. There is no excuse to release a game that includes problematic gameplay while still in beta, look at SWTOR...arguably the biggest IP you can tap into...loses half of it's players in the first 6 months because of problematic gameplay. Fix the game, or don't release it.

Reading comprehension failure.

Lasting Effect On The Game World.

Hell... Warhammer online... people still play that simply to get their statue up in the capital city for a week... and the pvp (main selling point) in that is buggy as hell.
Counterstrike, you could shoot people through walls for years because their shadows passed through the things... no persistant effects on the game world, but it's still going strong.

the FPS genre is full of bugs and exploits that people use in multiplayer, but people still play them. Even when they have to pay for subscriptions to X-box live or the like.

DUST is free. utterly free... (unless you want AUR) ... that alone will bring in a lot of players. even if it's just as a game to play when they are broke at the end of the pay-month

they will play DUST because there broke? ..hmm broke and still own a PS3 nice!

Technically that's quite possible. You could buy 3 PS3's for the cost of my PC lol

How can one quit less?
QQ less? Makes no sense.

QQ is a meme, based on the fact that the letter Q looks a little like a tear falling from an eye.
it means 'cry' or 'crying' ... dependant on the situation.

hence the term.. "Less QQ, More PewPew"
i mean 'less quit more shoot' doesn't sound right does it

I thought it was from the warcraft days, when you could literally press alt + q + q to quit a game.

Aight Aight, want patches and downtime to be exact?

Let's all start paying 25 euro / 32 $ per expansion eh?

Or, ccp could stop providing new content altogether and just fix the current bugs, hmm?

Point is:

Stuff be free, don't complain!

It's not free, we pay a subscription. And this isn't an expansion, it's a patch. But tl;dr most patches have delays, same in other games, let's chill. Just trying to be a smartass and correct here! P

All these people whining...... As someone stated earlier, when a patch is released for something like World of Warcraft they go offline for hours, even for a minor patch. The game will be up when it's up. Until then, go play something else, like Call of Duty, Battlefield 3, League of Legends, Shogun 2. Hell, Worms Revolution was released the other day. Whatever floats your boat.

Ohhhhh, ok. of course mate. But can you tell me why the **** they specify a time and can never follow their own offline limit?

Because no (deployment) plan survives contact with the enemy .

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

That said. your EULA and TOS for EvE do clearly state that downtimes might be extended...
and seriously. you're complaining that it's been extended to a whole 4 hours? (actually a little less)
most other games have 8-12 hour downtimes for 0.1 increment patches and even longer for 1.0 increment ones.

EVE have about 15-20 minutes of downtime every day. That accumulates to a lot compared to other games. If other games have 8 hours downtime twice a year, it's still little compared to EVE.

tthose games have cluster where 50k+ players play at the same time in the same place?

I hate to say it, but nice "weekly inventory updates until it is fixed" that you don't have in there....

Can i has corp hangar and deliveries buttan please?

Sry, when that question was initially answered (months after it was initially asked) the response came saying it would take more than 6 months to add the corp hanger button back to station services. (and now they are saying it will never be on station services panel) Sad to think, that this was initially on SiSi, the "corp hanger button" was one of the main complaints within the first couple of days.

Update at 11:25 UTC: Downtime will be extended until 13:05 UTC.
Update at 12:23 UTC: Downtime will be extended until 13:45 UTC.
Update at 13:45 UTC: Downtime will be extended until 14:05 UTC.
Update at 14:00 UTC: Downtime will be extended until 14:45 UTC.

??!?!?!?!??!??!?

Seriously, why not just ballpark a longer figure and get it done quicker, instead of all this "maybe in 5-10 minutes...oh that didn't work....maybe 20 more minutes....oh that still didn't work...ummm 10 more minutes..." Its not like you don't have experience patching things, learn from each patch.

CCP really should learn from Scotty in Star Trek. Always double the expected down time so you look like a god when you get in up under that time.
