Ah reminds me of the EVE 101 ops that are run for newbies every now and then.

How to align, how to warp, how to warp at range, make sure not to burn straight at the enemy, point before you web, and so on and so forth. Also, how to not bump the titan.

Well I bump the blackops all the time. But no one knows. Haha.

You will never learn how to play all of the game, I like that, be sure to have the help channel turn on during the slow parts. It seems every time I log in I learn something new, I'm so clueless sometimes. Blink

What now man??? I did those horribly uninformative training missions...what now? Those things cover like, 2% of the info you need in EvE.

For starters are there any OTHER large scale training corps like EvE University? Respect to what they do but the application process to my real life university was quicker and simpler.

Is there a streamlined, one stop shop site to go to to learn the game? Damage types, ships, glossary of terms, etc??? Seems like there are like 5,000 diff resources and many of them conflict. It shouldn't feel like I'm studying for the friggin LSAT while trying to learn a video game....this ridiculous. I don't mind taking time to learn but holy crap.

(Fully expect SOME exp players to flame for this. I'm used to it. People get exp then act like they've forgotten how it is to be new and get some sort of ego boost from trashing new players. I deal with losers like this IRL all of the time, so it's no big deal).

So yeah...I'm basically just trying to streamline this whole learning process. What are some good Corps to join to learn? Good places to go to learn the VERY basics of the game.

I also notice that this game, unfortunately like many MMOs is very exclusive. The exp players have all of the money, items, influence and pretty much make it impossible for newer players to get in and learn through them. So we pretty much have to figure it out. My SP aren't even in the 7 digits yet....some corps are asking for 50 million SP minimums??? How high does it go?

You basically can't join a decent corp until you have that much SP??? So I basically have to play by myself until then? If so then this'll just be a little side hobby until something else comes out. A friend of mine referred me to this game, but he stopped playing. Not going to pay just to log in, put some skills in queue then log off, which is basically all I do now., and have been doing for the last 2 weeks. If this is how it is up until the millions point in SP then...yeah....not for me.

This is one of the reasons why eve is such a good game. It weeds out the instant-satisfaction players.

Where in my post did I ask for instant satisfaction?

"Weed out"???

Feel like one of the "Cool Kids" now huh?

"Take THAT you jocks and cheerleaders from High School!!!"

Have sex dude.

Why in God's name would someone WANT people to be excluded in an MMORPG??? Wouldn't you WANT new players to be able to learn more efficiently (which is all I asked for)?

If not for us, who are you going to shoot at? Sell to? Pirate? (I'm seeing countless threads of exp folks complaining about how empty nullsec is). Don't you want to ATTRACT more people??? I just don't get this "I only want 10-20 special snowflakes like me to play this game" mentality.

nullsecs dead cos only hard core players go there and to be frank it aint dead its very much alive as for your exprenice its normal truth is in eve there is no better gun there is do i want to engage from afar or do i want to go up close take a breath and relaxxxxxxxxxxxxxx there are pleanty of corps out there that will help u but as far as wanting to know everything eve has to offer try 19 YEARS OF SKILLS u cant do it all in eve u do what u want as for the starter missions thats what they were starter missions u have a very long way to go seems u want to have a easy game that takes a few hours to master eve aint it

google it if u cant find an answer there u will never find it

there are plenty of people to shoot the games a mature game not wow

Of course, T1 lasers are not very good, but hit T2 and they become quite effective and fun. ;)

alone u will die like swtor did hard and fast i just don't get your attitude to the game info is every where there is no gear set like wow this is a sandbox different setups for different stuff u have the power here not some lamo instance that drops gear eve is for mature players the end game is to create waves in war or play the market and make millions what u do here is up to u as for the 50 million sp find another corp and be careful some will stick u in a ship stick u on guard duty and watch u die over and over again if u arent hard core go else where eve wont be for u if u cant handle failure and loss of ships dont play eve
if u cant survive buy your own will and stubbornness eve ain't for u

i play eve cos its a manssssssssss /womanssssssssssss game its hard and pounds u like a rock but once u crack that rock the diamonds are revealed and the power starts to flow eve is what u make it not what a dev makes it eve is your game not the devs that u follow

And the reason you will get flamed is not why you thought it would be.Most older players have NOT forgotten how it was when we started. We didn't have such a nice tutorial , we didn't have a nice hoover over this fitted mod and it tells me exactly how i can use it and till what range. We had a lot less Learning Points to start off with.We didn't have all those usefull sites you can now use for missions / pve fits / pvp fits / science questions because they are allmost all made by players who where there at the start.Hard to join eve-uni?Be glad you can even join it , didn't exist then because yet again it is a player made thing.

So in short , old players in eve do not THINK they had it more tough in eve , unlike other mmorpgs they actually did have it a LOT tougher.CCP softened up the game over the years to make it more accesable for other players. And offcourse what you then get is making it accesable for players who want EVERYTHING served on a dish and that is not eve.

How about, you are in your noobship and you are sent to fight a THRASHER and they tell you the ship is NOT as good as yours?

What kind of training mission is that?

It's an NPC controlled ship so what they're telling you is very accurate.

There are plenty of corps out there that accept even brand new players. What you wont be able to do is join the larger most successful corps as tehy are selective about who they bring into corp for many reasons, top of the pile is security issues.

Look on the recruitment forums, look foc corps that accept low sp, there are many of them.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Many smaller corps with open recruiting policies will teach you some, if not all, aspects of the game - at least in their areas of interest. There are also (or used to be) more specialised teaching academies beyond EVE-Uni - I believe Aspire are still doing it and (although I can't be certain) I believe Agony have an academy corp...
It is worth noting however that you are asking other players to take time out to teach you, it's not unreasonable for them to ask for some recompense - so if you're unwilling to pay for the training then you may find your options limited.

If you're entirely against paying for training then you're probably going to have to "learn on the job" as it were - but there are hundreds of corps who will help you with that.
