i want to say a couple of things

each and every nebulae which we have detected is a super duper uber goober magnification and enhanced set of multiple images that while beautiful beyond belief each and all exist in some tiny pinpoint of light on sea of blackness from earth

any system or even set of systems which would be found...ie if humans were actually there...to be surrounded on all sides by vast brilliant colorful SPACE CLOUDS...well there is a point there...the likelihood that INTELLIGENT humans would intentionally send themselves into such a region of space is just a bit beyond comprehension

that degree of radiant energy from all directions or even half a sky would render that system or even a set of systems in such a place with such a view completely void to sensor analysis as well as being uninhabitable to life as we purport to understand it

we wouldn't go there

but lets say we did


call it an aberrant twist of quantum instability that caused us to drop into such a point in space

the first thing our captains and crews would do is look for a massive enough body to hide behind and turn the ship to put the maximum amount of mass between us and the radiation...in otherwords stations would not be likely to be on the sunny side of a plametary body closer than saturn and would not draw close to that body for its own radiation issue

but

the very next thing to be done is CLEAN UP THAT SIGNAL

which means get the hell rid of any and all extraneous data as quickly as possible to get the actual information needed to plot a course out of hell before everyone in the vessel dies...or mutates and dies

there's two more points

no on would park as station on the full light side of a planet to its star

a terminator line trace orbit sure ...not static orbit forever over the noon point


and no one would try to filter out planetary data from the surface with full solar reflection off any ionization or atmospheric layers ...its just a waste of calculations speeds doing unnecessary filtering...the whole idea of scanning an ice planet on the sunny side....you cant see duh

move stations and planetary warp points to where solar reflections don't interfere ok thats a big thing

never mind

give me that very next thing would happen in my arsenal


LET ME CLEAN UP MY SIGNAL

if i am in a tin can with more power than the combined data networks of earth....do you really think i cant turn my screens density hue saturation and scan speeds up or down until i do not see data i don't want?

LET ME TURN OFF THE DAMN NEBULAE THAT NO ONE IN SPACE OR ON A PLANET CAN EVER EVER EVER SEE WITH A NAKED EYE


suspension of disbelief is the essence of virtualization and reality simulation

telling us we would LIVE in the middile of a radiation pool like a nebula

and that we would not turn off all that extraneous data


asking humans to ignore that space does not look like eve


eve does not look like space

is utter negation of that sense of my brain works just fine stop lying to me

suspension of disbelief is why things can be fun

give me back the black space all of us know is real or at least let me turn off your graphics so my sensors and eyes wont melt







seriously the whole idea is as absurd and thinking humans would not use repair drones to fix their own ships

why do you think we invented them even in science fiction??
