Nerfing it to one mod per ship, just like the new armor mod already is, would be a step towards balancing it.

It becomes a situational module and no longer has this "must have" sticker for shield boosting ships.

Then it would only be useful as a replacement or addition to buffer setups instead of a dedicated active tank e.g. the Maelstrom. If you can't run two of these at least subsequently (if they remove the ability to run more than one at the same time it might work), then the standard booster and injector combo would become superior. Generally speaking if this module doesn't restore shields in excess of your maximum capacity per reload cycle then it's useless as a tank module and can be used as a buffer supplement only.

To the guy who said "why would it matter?" I completely agree. CCP is likely to nerf the ASB into the ground and make it useless for a few years. Nothing to cry over since people will simply go back to normal shield boosters.

please, I missed a year of gameplay, explain to me what good is in shiled booster on cap charges?

Is it a lol tank in lol fight? What is so good about them? It can not hold very many charges, it runs out of charges and eats cap at stupid pace. Then no active tank can withstand an all on one gank power. All DPS goes on primary target. Buffer works better.

Decent buffer Raven/drake tank can outlast any shield boost setup in a PvP engagement between small and medium parties.

This post sums up why the 'best' work with DCM inc.

WARP DRIVE makes eve boring

really - add warping align time 300% on gun aggression and eve becomes great again

If you fit 2 ASB's, reload time becomes a non-issue & they won't consume capacitor unless you have no charges left. It's essentially a shield booster on a 4 second cycle time that uses no capacitor.

It's completely immune to neutralizers, and boosts about what a Pith X-type boosts per cycle. One X-L can go 13 cycles when you use navy 400 charges. That's almost 13,000 shields on a single reload. A large T2 extender with three extender rigs is less than 40% of that, and when you consider that the boosters open up rig slots for resistances, it's even better by comparison.

There's a reason everyone is using them.

Not played the game for about a year m8,

Just out in interest, how have you been using them on your Cyclone and Sleipnir then ?

I wondered the same. I think he's saying he took a year off, and that hes back now. Deciphering poor grammar should be taught in schools.

So should the basic laws of physics, and I think your Avatar is breaking at least a couple of them. Smile
