I'd say that you should go for whatever feels good. Originality and creativity is healthy, but of course there's alot of things that are new. If you want a background of the Eve universe, Evelopedia is a good place to start. I can also recommend the books that are available for purchase. "The Burning Life" presents most factions, both pirate and empire.

Spontaneously, I think that you could write the story behind your character becoming a capsuleer. Otherwise, I think that the most enjoyable bios I have read are related to the employment histories; why s/he quitted and joined different corporations, feelings and thoughts etc. But since you're new, that won't really be the case for a while (or will it?).

Otherwise, you could go with the David Copperfield: You were born, you grew up, you became an adult and here you are now.
Keep an open end. The story never finishes...

There's a lot of places you can start to be honest!

EVE has a very dark, rich and deep history that spans almost 20,000 years in total. The best thing to do before you start to develop your character is to take a look at EVE's backstory and really immerse yourself in the world.

A good place to start is the Chronicles Portal on the eve Wiki. This lists a set of short stories produced by our writers that give a window into the dark, gritty background that makes up New Eden.

From there, the Fiction Portal also contains a lot of technical, social and political backstory, including profiles on key figures in history, corporations and all manner of things that flesh out EVE's environment.

Generally, speaking as a roleplayer since EVE's release, what you make of your character is your own call, after all New Eden is a sandbox and we want people to create their own stories and experiences. At the same time, EVE has such an awesome and hardcore Roleplaying community, that you'll want to make sure you stick to prime fiction, as it's something that EVE players are both very proud, and very protective of.

Your selection for capsuleer training can be one aspect of your bio. How exactly did you become a capsuleer? Perhaps you came from a wealthy background? Maybe you were selected by a nation's military after exemplary service?

Thats an interesting fact.

Im a passionate roleplayer but i coudn't find an activ roleplay community in the last two years of playing EvE.
Every sharp of rp in EvE i have seen is change to dust until now so i fall back to play EvE just as a spaceship and industry sim, not as e real roleplay game.

OK, my main activity is in the german comm, so that could be the reason why but it would be nice to find some active roleplayers here.

Sorry for my bad english. I'm native minmatar and i've learned it from a ducttaped translation comp.

The main places to find RP in EVE are through the Intergalactic Summit forum here, the channel "The Summit" in game, and sometimes in the channel "Live Events" in game, when we (CCP) decide to run a live event.

Maybe Ev0ke might interest you.
From what I heard they do RP, but less focussing on CCP lore but more making up their own lore through their actions. Which basically everyone does in a way, but Ev0ke seems to embrace it.
Their meetings sure look RPish: http://imgur.com/a/SZLhC - and they have stuff like the "Allianzministerium der Vergeltung" and the "Zentrale Dienstvorschrift 'Gefechtsdienst aller Truppen (in Space)' ZDV 3/11".

Look into the 'FCORD' mailing list. Good way to find out of live events and their outcomes if you miss them. From a role-playing perspective also.
