Oracles define definite futures, not predictions on what will happen if certain actions are made. I am 95% sure on my predictions, and I am geniunly worried about the future of this "quite amazing game".

I have been watching eve progress over the years. Recently started playing about 6 months ago because I felt the game was getting more polished. This update if I had not already signed up would have been enough to make me sign up.

I bet EVE will see a large influx of players both new and old coming back to see if eve fixed their problems.

You share the same belief as CCP, please go back and read the thread again and again until you fully understand the implications of what you are saying.

I completely stand by what I said. I did not play your eve, I could have but chose not to. Recent changes got me to play eve.
And I bet there are a lot more like me out there as well. And no not ex wow players. That is not a game I ever had interest in.

Nothing lasts forever, I am not saying Eve will definately die soon, I'm saying if CCP makes the decisions they keep talking about I put the deadline to 2 years when the game is essentially "dead". The servers will be up for a few years longer than that, I don't want this game to die. I'm just expressing my absolute concerns for what is happening right now in my favourite game.

Respect.

I just think you can express those concerns without any reference to "EVE is dying". It is much more effective to just state what specific issues you feel need changes, why and what the new changes should be.

I myself have 14 accounts, for awhile I had them all active. These days I only keep 3 active max, because I now spend more time playing other games. I have a friend with 31 accounts who will quit, and other friends with 6+ each who will also quit with retribution at this point.

While I understand the frustration since I have gone through similar episodes myself, on a similar note, could the eventual loss of subscribers also be attributed to how players seem to become self-sufficient using multiple accounts? Someone that is a single account holder feels he or she just can not compete against a player that can gather stuff faster and quicker and eventually leave the game in frustration since their small niche in the game gets flooded by multiple account players.

Just a thought.

Can you give a reason why exactly anyone should be worried about future of EVE?

To me this looks thread looks like a hisec carebear whine thread, where a hisec carebear whines because CCP will nerf CONCORD in Retribution.

I'm going to take a wild guess here.....

You are hiding in the warm cosy bubble that you call Hi-sec and think THAT is the totality of Eve Online.

How sad you are....

Huh, I had you pegged to at least your mid-thirties. Also, both of those bands are horrible.

On topic, I'm cautiously skeptical of the next expansion. Some of the mechanics are pretty terrible and CCP isn't known for favoring the "criminal" elements (or even listening to their advice) in this game, so I think we'll get them as-advertised unless the CSM pulls some miracle eleventh hour sort of **** (HEY HANS ******* CALL THEM OUT ON THIS THAT'S WHAT I ******* VOTED YOU IN FOR). After that, it's up to the players.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

You're missing the point, this new Eve you are coming is not the same game that has survived for years and gained playerbase steadily since it's release. It may be better in your mind for the moment, and let it be known I do not think eve should go back to the past. I want eve to stand by what it was founded to be, a sandbox, and massive killzone, a no place is safe, that is the game we all want to play and as long as CCP endorses this type of Game I will be happy as will many others. Now go look, what do you see. This is not what Eve is becoming, they are starting to place more restrictions and making high sec a safe zone.

You represent one of the two types that CCP are endorsing and giving benefits to, I do not nor will I ever beleive that High sec if the only part of eve that matters. But it's like any buisness or structure, every part is needed to sustain itself. What you just said is that you believe that the empire state building would still stand if it was missing 20% of it's structure.

Can you give a reason how exactly CONCORD is being nerfed in Retribution? You are sadly mistaken if you believe this.

As to why anyone should be worried about the future of Eve, the game will be in trouble after HIgh sec is carebears only and nullsec if pvpers only. That system won't work.

Some would argue that the changes over time are in conjunction with the additional players coming to EVE. EVE will "STILL" be a sandbox, and massive killzone, a no place is safe game after Retribution some of the rules of engagement have changed is all.

The reality is the game has and will continue to evolve, not always in the direction each individual wants myself included. If the game gets to pussified for your taste then its just a game that no longer suits you and it is in fact time to move on.

On the otherhand, you can always as each person that subs does, advocate your well thought out position and gain support from the community for changes according to how you see things.

Of course CCP has a vision of the game as well and sometimes those visions conflict with individuals visions which is natural.

It's kind of the low brow argument to claim a game like this is dying just because their vision conflicts with yours.

Heck I have seen carebears say they will be trying PvP for the first time with Retribution.

CONCORD will then look away when the mob spanks a criminal. Currently you are used to being protected by CONCORD.

Hisec is and has always been carebears only, PVP happens in low, null and wormholes. Get over it and come play with us, you will like it.

Criminal key word, yet they protect all of those who wish not to pvp.

Nope CONCORD protects those I wish to fight

wrong again hi sec accounts for a lot of pvp and has massive effect on null, much more than you see
to realize.

No I will not I've lived in null and low and I hate it.

Your biased report on the way eve works is unimpressive and bores me.

The game is not dieing because it conflicts with my interests it is dieing from the fact that the game will fail as the game becomes more structured and people will get bored with it and quit including you.
