I have asked this in every thread where some two bit nerd says EVE is dying, show the proof. Show us CCP's customers data. Until you have that proof, you are nothing but a two bit nerd on a rage. Like all the times I ask this, you cannot prove your lies, because you do not have access to that data. I will not comment on any game play, as each person has an aspect they like, but you need to prove your point with hard data.

I await your links from CCP. Big smile

EVE is quite an amazing game in that I don't think there's any other community out there who have so many self-proclaimed oracles in it.

I like this, the fact that he does tell people that quite often makes me giggle. Big smile

By the way OP still waiting for the data CCP gave you.

Upfront I'm a carebear, pve happy casual for the most part. The only thing I an really say for sure is that eventually, SOMEONE is going to come out with a successful casual friendly Space based MMO because it was designed that way from the start. Regardless of exactly what genre it falls under, the casual pve friendly people like me are going to try it out and most likely stay. I don't think EvE will compete well if it tries to step out of the niche its made for itself and compete for players like myself.

Just my opinion.

Also I just came back and have no idea what you all are on about.

They have one. It's called STO. Have you tried it? It's doing really well right now.

Comparing EVE to STO is like comparing Duck Confit to chicken nuggets. Granted Black Prophecy failed as well, though it was very limited in deployment features as well.

STO was an abomination that I would not pay to play, and as it turns out, will not play unless I get paid to do so. To be honest, I think taking poplar IP's, especially tv and movie related ones, and trying to turn that into an MMO is just a bad idea all around. I can't tell you how much it bothers me that Starfleet will just cobble any scrap of metal they can find together with a warp nacelle and call it a starship, but I guess that does explain why they have the strongest starfleet I've ever seen in Star Trek Histroy. Besides all that the overall game was just horrible in terms of gameplay, ui, and graphics.

Black Prophecy looked really good, but having everything instanced rather than being a seamless or even semi-seamless world was a bit of a turn-off for me personally....plus I showed up after some major calamity that drove players away and by the time I logged in I was playing with around 37 people.

I am very excited about the Star Citizen project. Hopefully it doesn't turn to vaporware and perhaps can do what BP and JGE probably intendedto do.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

The only music I really don't care for is, here in the US, "country" music, and most of the music classified as "traditional" in other countries (German polka or whatever, anything with a big chorus...). The only music album I ever got rid of was Alanis Morisette in jr. high... traded it for the Foo Fighters first album. That was a good trade.

The OP "IS" right. EVE "IS" dying just like every other MMO out there since none will live forever. It may take another x amount of years to actually die, but it is dying just like we all are dying.

This is the logic people use, so that when the game does actually die they can come back here an say they told you so.

This is "EXACTLY" what is happening in the City of Heroes forum. On August 31st , just before the release of issue#24 NC SOFT told Paragon Studios the devs that they were shutting down the game, the studio and all projects being worked on.

Now the forum is full of trolls saying see I told you so...five years ago...but I still told you so nah nah nah nanie.

It's ALL so low brow and stupid, but hey its the internet.....

Whine?
Quit?

Players vote with subscribtions. CCP listens to those who pay.
Vote with your subscribtion not whine. Roll

Whine and pay - subscribtions steady - and you are ignored most of times. P

Exactly my point, CCP listens to those who pay the most, those who cry the loudest, and they forgot their rule of "Harden the **** up". That rule made Eve great, I hear the stories of 2005-2008 and you have no idea how much I wish I had played this game back then. You are telling me to quit, I probably will. Just like the others like me, we will quit and you will stay for a while. Eventually CCP will see what cycle they have started and it will be too late. By then I will have found a new MMo, probably one nothing close to as good as this game could have been. Sad but true.

Look up the logged in player charts, there is your example. 2008 we have about 40,000 on about everyday, and 60,000 on the weekends. Now our weekend high is 40,000 with the alt percentage that means that even less of that group is the actual amount. I myself have 14 accounts, for awhile I had them all active. These days I only keep 3 active max, because I now spend more time playing other games. I have a friend with 31 accounts who will quit, and other friends with 6+ each who will also quit with retribution at this point. Total subs will go up for a small amount of time as carebears now feel it time to activate and create more toons for their high sec risk free endeavours but that means everytime one gets bored and quits you lose more than 1 sub. This will eventually lead to a decreasing sub count, nothing can change this unless CCP change their plans.

Logged in accounts does not show the facts sir, we need hard account data from CCP. You and the op have no idea how many people pay for accounts, you really do not. Show us some hard facts on suscriber #s, that is the only one that matters.

Nothing lasts forever, I am not saying Eve will definately die soon, I'm saying if CCP makes the decisions they keep talking about I put the deadline to 2 years when the game is essentially "dead". The servers will be up for a few years longer than that, I don't want this game to die. I'm just expressing my absolute concerns for what is happening right now in my favourite game.

Yes it actually does, accounts that are subbed that don't log in won't be subbed for long my friend. Not to mention, if things were going good don't you think they would spend a little more time bragging about the subscription rate? Instead I see no numbers or mentions from CCP lately. Strange no?

The expansion itself is not causing the death, it is the choices of CCP and the things they are making happen within their game. The expansion is a for lack of a better term a "Crucible" of the death of Eve, ironic I thought "Crucible" would save Eve then they turned back aronud and launched "Inferno". Now they are making highsec a no pvp land and Null and low pvp only.
