Testserver questions

Hope this is right section:

When I want to test out fits, ships etc. I go to the Singularity testserver right (or is this misuse of the testserver)? If so can I dualbox on the testserver?

Reason I'm asking is because I would like to test out an Archon, the tactics, assigning drones etc, together with my alt.
Other than that, I already have an Archon (for over a year), it is parked in a low-sec system. Will the same ship be on the testserver, or do I need to buy one in low sec?
Oh and how soon will my real ingame skills be synchronized with testserver, if I would finish the carrierskill this weekend?

Yes you can test out fits etc on the test server although it is generally frowned upon if thats the *Only* reason you use the test server, remember its here for CCP to test stuff, not a live EFT simulator.

Currently the test server in use is Buckingham, not singularity, occasionally Duality goes up for other testing so just keep checking but you would mainly use Buckingham until told otherwise.

Mirrors are taken whenever CCP deems necessary (Note that a mirror could last 1 day or 1 year). Mirrors are effectively a copy of whatever you had at the exact time the "mirror" was taken, so your Archon would still be parked in low-sec.

You're TQ skills are synchornized whenever the test server is mirrored and only when it is mirrored.

At the time of this post the last mirror for Buckingham was taken on: August 10th. So whatever you have done since August 10th won't be on Buckingham


As a final note, don't expect any help from ISDs / CCP when testing fits, they won't spawn you anything and you can only use what you have, can get or buy off the market as usual. If you want an officer mod for example, you gotta go and get it somehow.

Thanks for the info.

I am indeed going to use the testserver to test an archon, but nor so much the fit as more the mechanics on how to use it. 9how to cyno, how to assign drones, but also other ships that require some 'practice' to master the skills

On a sidenote, I would be very inclined to take the same ship to use in for testing purposes arranged by CCP once I do know how to use it, and am also willing to provide feedback on whatever I encounter.

As for my other question, can I dualbox so that I can cyno my archon to a testlocation where the next mass test would occur, or does that require the help of a friendly fellow player?

If you have 2 accounts then you can dualbox the exact same way as you would on TQ, if not then you would need to get the help of a fellow player.

Remember that not all tests will accept the use of capitals. The last mass-test, due to the speed they needed to run at, wouldn't wait for ships to be cynoed around so it was restricted to sub-caps only. Others might though.

No worries, I have plenty of things I have never done, am capable of and feel much safer trying out during a mass test.
