Ok ccp you have 3 test sever's now do us a huge favor and cut it to 2 that we will log into and free up some of are hard drive space.

Dual, Bucky, and Sisi 3 is a bit much if our asking me to keep on my hard drive thats 6 copys of the game on one computer. 3 copys for my 3 account and 3 copys for the test severs please do we really need 3 copys of the test severs?

Although it's technically a breach of the EULA, I've heared people are doing fine with multiple accounts using only 1 copy. CCP doesn't seem to mind if you do this. Saves you 2 installs.

Its not the fact i have 3 installs for my each of my accounts its the fact does ccp really need 3 test severs for players to test on.

From the sounds of it latey sisi is going to be of little use and Dual. is rarely up so drop one of those two is what iam getting at and clear up some disk space for people that do testing on the severs.

Incorrect, you are not required to keep any test server installed so if you want to delete it go ahead. CCP NEEDS all 3 server (Hint: NEEDS) currently for various reasons:

Singularity: The only server that can currently support DUST 514 and as such is ONLY being used for DUST 514 unless testing requires public EvE players to connect. I would suggest that you drop this one now as its not really required for us EvE'rs to use.

Duality: Used for the mass tests and certain winter expansion testing as and when required, this is also a good choice to drop if you are really hard pressed for disk space as its not being used much but I would keep it for when its up.

Buckingham: The "new" Singularity, general testing and some other stuff happens here, keep this one installed for the time being.

This, pretty much. Noone is forcing you to keep and update 3 installs. Buckingham is the everyday one, and Duality and Sisi can easily be copied and update when they're needed - you don't need to keep them around necessarily.

I wonder where the EULA specify that you can't run multiple instances of the same install at once. If that was truely not permitted, it would be a no-brainer for CCP to set a restriction to prevent windows from launching another instance if one was already running.

I run 4 accounts off of a single install on an almost daily basis

It´s not a breach of the EULA as far as I know certainly. I run up to 5 accs from the same install and still have my job :P

Some players are still stuck in the past, where it used to make things run a little smoother if each instance was run from its own directory.

But since the implementation of the new launcher this is no longer necessary. Only one instance of the new launcher can be run from a single directory, but you can launch as many instances of the game client from that launcher as you want.

The only time you need more than one launcher open is if you are logging into two or more different servers at the same time. In this case they need separate directories any way as they are running different versions of the client.

The days of needing a separate directory for each client you run simultaneously are long over. There may be some minor benefits to this if each directory was on a different physical hard drive(not just different partition) as each client would not have to share the read speed of the same drive. but in that case you would have 3 or more separate hard drives and space should not be an issue. if space is a big issue for you than just run them all fro a single directory. The performance difference is almost zero.

From http://community.eveonline.com/pnp/eula.asp

Quote:
Section 9 A. Software License
For each valid Account you maintain, you may install a copy of the Software on, and access the System from, a single computer or Game platform, and from a secondary computer if you so choose. You must purchase a separate license to the Software for each additional Account you register; e.g., if you have 2 Accounts, you must have 2 licensed copies of the Software. You may not use more than one Account with a single licensed copy of the Software. You may make one (1) copy of the Software for backup or archival purposes.

Software = client, Account = account if I interpeted the definitions correctly.

If you use a 5 accounts with a single client, you're in violation of this section, thus breach of EULA.

I don't want to get you fired CCP Goliath, you have too much to do, so maybe you should turn yourself in ;)
