Ah, demagogism.
Allow me an observation, Thessalonia.

It is nice to see you rally so quickly to the other end of the cluster to help your beloved allies with attacking a planetside installation under caldari sovereignity, then paint the subsequent extraction of pillaged goods and survivors of the assaulting force as humanitarian in nature.

You must be desperately trying to secure the moral highground if you consider the argument of "It's their own fault that they got killed by us." of helpful in this case. Bonus points are awarded for being highly judgemental of any capsuleer who uses force - slanting their reasons as excuses for mindless violence - yet acting at the very least equally worse.

In truth, the words you're artfully using here are the same basic routine any pirate uses to justify his actions against law and ethics.

I do hope you are enjoying the blindfolds you're wearing.

I do love it when you bicker among yourselves.

The Cartel were likely there for two reasons, attempted acquisition of any potential technology and removal of associates of their rivals, that being you.

Actually, we are living not far away, in Placid, at the moment. This didn't significantly conflict with ongoing mission parameters. Happy coincidence!

If that's your only concern then, good, let's get that dastardly rumour out of the way, then.

I can confirm two Guristas battle cruiser kills, with the final blows scored by Ninavask, which are eligible for the bounty scheme. Due to the battle cruiser hull not being covered in my original statement, I have awarded the Battleship amount of reward - in this case a total of 100 million isk to the pilot in question (2 * BS amount at the Objective Incomplete level of pay out).

Should any additional kills have been scored between 10:00 and 11:00 ETC, please notify me, with a valid DED kill report, as soon as possible.

Tyrathlion Interstellar has matched the payments for the two verified kills as of a few hours ago.

I would like to thank Ms Lagann and her colleagues at Tyrathlion Interstellar for their financial contributions to this effort. It is my hope that the lawful pilots of the four empires will come to realise that though military might is always required in the fight against barbarism and insurrection, there are many forms of contribution. It is a large cluster, but in the interests of preventing gross acts of territorial violation, and preserving the status quo, those right-minded pilots with the means or skills to contribute to the prosperity and safety of their home nation have no higher calling.

With regards to more immediate matters, I have been assured by an NOH aligned capsuleer that though he does not have direct insight into the station responsible for harboring Guristas elements, Internal Security forces are investigating claims of low-level corruption. It is believed, at this time, that the Guristas attack was likely a brazen attempt to win respect or mimic the activities of the Angels attacks that occurred recently within the Republic. The follow up rescue operation, usually indicative of materiel recovery, seems to have been motivated by erroneous cost analysis on the part of Guristas command, possibly even insubordinate action spurred by misplaced familial loyalty to those stranded criminal elements. The sacrifice of so many crewmen for mere showmanship and recovery of 'known individuals' at the expense of the lives of what they must consider to be faceless 'probationary members' is deplorable and indicative of Guristas moral bankruptcy.

It is our conclusion that, at this time, it may safely be assumed that Guristas forces are not in possession of State materials or product development that is not already in wide circulation. It is up to State authorities to investigate deeper into such matters, but should it be required, State loyal Capsuleers stand ready to assist in investigatory and humanitarian work should it be requested.

I'm right here, and we're already doing our part as always.

Word on the street is that you... Somewhat changed allegiance in the very recent past. I'm intrigued to know if your perennial dedication to the Guristas cause shifted to some other shadier, secluded (it seems their territory is not even reachable from the cluster) alliance.

I hope you will be able to reply.

But if you don't, I may know the reason: as usual, because of Falcon.

From what I understand, the Gurista transport was nuked on ondock by the caldari Navy.

This leads me to ask why the Gurista did not do the same technique as used by capsuleers since our ascendancy.

Contracting out hauling to unaffiliated, anonymous haulers. Come on guys.

Could be that the pirates have spent too much time shooting at the local Capsuleer industrialists and they are blacklisted by ever single reliable shipping service. They have to rely on their own ships to move sensitive freight. Which can be a problem when you send two frigates and an industrial ship to undock from a station surrounded by a hundred capsuleers... The Gurista have money, true, but I'm not sure any would accuse the ones in the Forge of being terribly bright.

I was in attendance with my Basilisk crew in an attempt to limit casualties when the Guristas undocked into a horde of waiting Capsuleers and a significant contingent of Navy Tengus. There was a minimal loss of life, though I should have preferred that the target be webbed and disrupted to a standstill - there were more than enough ships capable of doing so. This would have been not only the more humanitarian choice, but also the more strategic. Still - operation successful.

I was quite dismayed by what happened next, however. The Navy contingent fled, coinciding with the arrival of a hostile fleet from the Goonswarm Federation! I had thought that, given the events of the spring and the yearly aggression the GSF has against the Empires, plus the significant numbers of DED-loyal Capsuleers present, they would have at least put up a fight for State territory? Could a State Navy representative please explain the reason for this? I'm sure that I'm missing an important element here. Was there some sort of emergency elsewhere?

Knowing the State Navy there must've been an emergency at the bar in their station HQ. Drinks half off. I mean, the target industrial ship was destroyed. The two measly Gurista frigates fled. No reason to stay and protect State citizens against the dozens of incoming hostiles.
