starting pvp question

I'm going to start pvp'ing on my alt account. My question is, the guides I read say buy a bunch of frigs, fit them all with t1 stuff and go looking for fights. Ok, well, I saw a cruiser mining in .3 sec, so I was like, ok I'll attack him. Looked like his only had mining laser fitted so I did. Took awhile but I killed him. Elated and joyous on my first pvp encounter, I warp back into .6 space to log off, and Concord blew me up.

How do I go about looking for pvp fights without making it a danger to re-enter high sec? And I don't want to be a pirate.

Gotta wait out the global criminal countdown. If you don't want to hurt your sec status you can bait can flippers into fighting you or get people to attack you first. That won't hurt your sec status.

I yeah, I need to google can flipping. I remember reading about that. Can't believe I forgot it. Also, going to check out your sig/link.

That's just my journal of my first 20 frig fights. Only typed up the first two fights, gotta do two more before I go out on a solo roam again. Keep in mind, I don't care about my sec status so what I do may not work exactly for you.

Try to learn pvp in 0.0.

It will make you a better pilot and you wont lose sec (become pirate).

Whatever you do, don't join the blobs. Thats how you fail at PVP.

That has absolutely nothing to do with learning about PvP Roll

RvB or FW are good options I would recommend as well!

0.0 w/o the blobs can be nice, but frustrating as well. But tactics and options are different to low-sec pvp.

Lowsec security mechanics will be changing with the Crimewatch update this winter. IIRC, you will be able to engage ships on gates without fear of gateguns now. Aggressing a pod will still be GCC however.

RVB is a great place to learn. You can get into fleets of all sizes and they have a system set aside for free-for-all solo pvp. FW is another place to learn.

No matter where you end up, just get out there and do it. Don't be afraid to lose and convo your opponent after the fight. Most people are happy to give pointers.

lrn to reading comprehension.

Don't listen to this post, this guy has no idea what hes talking about.

Do NOT join RvB unless you want constant consensual blob warfare.
