HI all

as per this bug http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=549
Catalyst 12.8 and 12.6 drivers misreport Max ARB_VERTEX_SHADER float constants

this leads to the following error: shader_generate_glsl_declarations The hardware does not support enough uniform
components to run this shader, it may not render correctly.
and a black screen at login.

System: Linux Mint 13
WIne 1.5.14

I'll post more info as I figure it out
will be testing catalyst beta drivers later today,

Tested with Catalyst beta drivers

this bug is resolved in catalyst 12.9 (beta)

note, while wine has provided a workaround, this is *not* a wine issue, it's a problem in the ATI drivers.

12.9 fixes this somehow. High shaders still don't work correctly (rendering issues) and still got massive rendering issues on icons of ships and drones and targeted stuff.

FPS compared to windows is about 1/2 to 1/3, tearfree kills allot of FPS however desktop without tearfree is just painfull.

Also not sure if its only me but 12.9 got issues with power profiles, meaning the card wont go upp to maximum clocks when playing IE lower performance if you don't use overdrive to force it to your clocks.
