You spent almost the entire fight zoomed out and didn't really depict any crucial moments in the fight.

Were there any, or was this fight decided before it started?

I don't mind if people make movies from perspectives where they have advantages, that's part of EVE too (and to your credit you're upfront about it in the breakdown): but i think it's important that you consider content when you release a movie. What are you showing us, and how are you presenting it? If you don't have a story to tell then you don't really have any content to show. It just become pixels. This time you released a movie about a fight without really depicting the fight.

It doesn't translate to an interesting viewer experience What?.

How, when or where did you make the decisive move?
Those are important moments to capture and show your audience. Keep that in mind until the next time.

good editing and video quality, tho in all honesty I dont see much point of frapsing and making a major video/hype out of 200 duders ganking 20 duders like its a major achivement.

btw when are you gonna get t2 invus on your huginn:P (on top of firing 180mm acs from 40-70km)

I still would thanks RnK`s/Phew for taking the bait which looks more like it was intended for my gang(of supers) rather than theirs.

RnK was well baited into the battle and then slaughtered, that itself is quite impressive.

I don't know why you come to defend RnK as they use this technique to fight everytime and then complain when it gets countered (as they did when they got countered by ninja's in placid in their home system)

Actually it was an intended bait for supers (hence dread blob) and not ours - still, we like to throw gangs around and can't complain if we get hotdropped sometimes since we do our share too. It's all good fun.

But it's quite a compliment that someone would make a video of killing a mid-sized triage gang against those odds Smile Whilst I'd like to think we don't die too often, I'm not sure we die quite that rarely..

o/ Ninja alt. I believe we counter-countered Ninjas with Pantheon that day though, and we had them and their allies 22-4 on caps over that period until they went inactive. We'll see how Cursed Coalition do since they're not too far from where we base atm and so hopefully some regular meetings.

That's what i was saying: they should have been showing us that bit then. Now, they focused on the on-grid events without really showing any details of the fight itself. What is shown is not impressive, and i would have liked to see the turn of events that would have left an impression. I never said there weren't any, just that they never showed them.

Looking only at the movie when you don't know the circumstances around it, as i don't: You only see them dropping in subcapitals with a fair advantage to begin with. If that was the "bait" (dropping an equal or greater force where the hostiles still decide to take the fight), it says quite alot about EVE and why most people don't take fights anymore. I'm still hoping the bait was something more intricate that the movie never showed. I guess baiting a "GF oriented" group with a "fight" (they'd assume they could still potentially win) makes sense in a way, but it's not really the terminology i'd use myself.

I remember seeing that logic once before in a movie when some FW-fleet phoned in a large NCdot superdrop and then proceeded to pat themselves on the back saying "we baited well". Only that the initial FW-fleet was twice the size of what they baited and should have won with relative ease on their own accord.

That logic is somewhat backwards, as any potential fight would become bait, thus taking any fight amount to being baited and subsequently taking any fight become a poor tactical choice. It's the opposite of trying to encourage fights. Anyway, it's rants beside the point. Like i said: I'm hoping there was more to it here - that there was some well-planned bait they could have shown us, and the criticism was solely of that not being captured by the movie.

I'm not sure if we should debate other movies here, but looking at the movie i belive you refer to, you lost the initial fight despite a 2:1 advantage, then re-shipped and re-engaged them with more capitals than they had ships total, ontop of twice the numbers. With that you only managed to polish the statistics up to not look like as a devastating loss, since your own tally still list a loss and the kills you got was the couple of sieged capitals left behind. If you want to claim you "counter-countered" their 3 Dreads with 15 RR Carriers, i guess that is your perogative but it makes the rest of your comments about numerical advantages here quite amusing. Credit where it's due my friend.

They got blobbed in the end, for sure, though some tight repping when there were only a few Pantheon on the gate. We could have been unsporting and brought caps from the beginning but that wouldn't have been cool Smile I'd still give them that one on isk efficiency but whenever someone flames (in this case ninjas, SheenK aside) about unrelated situations, and in a video thread no less, you can be sure that party lost heavily in the past - and so it proves here: a series of battles that went against them and a fanatical self-destruct policy for their caps which played its little part in getting the mechanic changed.

My only comment about numerical advantage is in relation to being quite flattered that Curse Coalition made a video of this. Nothing wrong with bringing what you have - no one likes leaving fleet members on standby. Blobbing is nothing we'd ever complain about since we're playing a massively multiplayer game and if people want a fair fight they can play a 5v5 CS war.

Everyone blobs sometimes (we do too); a measure is always whether people fight when they aren't the blob. And to be fair to the groups in that video, they are good guys who will fight with their backs to the wall as eagerly as when they have the numbers to hand (which aside from the self-destruct-orgies of the past, is a credit I'd grant Ninjas with too). Which is all anyone can ask :)
