Hi,

The category to file under is 'Other Issues' -> Community.

If you have got something constructive, on-topic and within the rules to say; then please say it and enjoy the conversation.
However, If you don't or can't post within the rules then please don't use the post button.

If you're not aware, going out of your way to make work for the CCL team or the CCP staff who resolve such work will not be met favourably; We have all sorts of rules about that sort of thing. You might also want to re-read the EULA and terms of service, they've got some interesting reading on the subject of making things hard for CCP and their representatives.

Particularly relevant is rule 1 of the terms of service:

terms of service wrote:

You may not abuse, harass or threaten another player or authorized representative of CCP, including customer service personnel and volunteers. This includes, but is not limited to: petitioning with false information in an attempt to gain from it or have someone else suffer from it; sending excessive e-mails, EVE-mails or petitions; obstructing CCP Employees from doing their jobs; refusal to follow the instructions of a CCP Employee; or implying favoritism by a CCP Employee.

Thanks and fly safe.

And with the new Crimewatch and the idiotic timers built in, when 20,000 people lose connectivity, all those ships will be visible for 15 minutes.

Yes, these new timers will be truly wonderful as every time CCP or some big ISP has a glitch, there will be hordes of losses.

I understand your concern Dinsdale, but please remember that the entire Crimewatch announcement is covered by a "subject to change" clause.

Considering what happened tonight though, it would be very good of you to make this point in the Feedback post over here as it's especially germane to that discussion.

Thanks and fly safe!

Sorry, but I have zero faith in the devs to factor this in, nor do I truly believe that they listen to input, unless there is an immense groundswell of anger and resistance AFTER a new mechanism goes live on TQ.

The 50 plus page anger-naught on the test thread forums BEFORE the new UI went live proves that.

But there are exceptions of course. Plex structures being impacted by the new AI was rolled back in a matter of days when null sec complained.

Hi,

I'm saddened that you believe this is the case.

They really do factor this stuff in, and I know they that listen to this input because a large part of the reason that my team exists is to flag player concerns and raise them with CCP.

And raise it, we do!

Just as an aside, a player perspective if you will; If they ignored feedback do you think they'd ask for it ? Do you think they'd have a team of ISD staff who's job it is to make sure that the communication between the forums and CCP is maintained and that the conversation is constructive ?

To paraphrase a wise man; CCP hear everything, sometimes the answer is No.

Regarding your question about "if CCP ignores feedback, why do they ask for it", I believe it is optics. 2 summers ago the CEO almost killed the game, until he did a mea cupla. CCP promised then to listen to the customer base more closely.
Well, since then, in my view, there has been a slow backslide to the situation where CCP listens only to "advice and feedback" that confirms their own vision of the game. They pay lip service to that promise.

Now, ultimately, it is CCP's game. They can create any changes they like, with as little input from the player base as they want, or from whatever specific subset of the player base (read as null sec zealots) that they like.
As it has always been, the best way the player base can show their approval or disapproval for changes is with their subscriptions. I personally shut down all my accounts but this one when Soundwave wiped out datacore and Incursion income. Those accounts have not been renewed, and given the latest round of attacks on the customer base, I have no interest in reactivating them.
So will the majority of the player base slowly do the same thing as I? Who knows for sure. I believe they will. CCP and the null sec groups believe not. Time will tell.

And as for the role of the ISD, in fact your team was not created to provide a conduit between the forums and CCP, but to police the forums. With the last set of changes to the game, many people were personally attacking the devs. The ISD was created to hammer those people into submission. If your role has morphed into being some kind of communications link, I have no problem with that, though I wonder what the CSM is doing then.

Bottom line, I have seen so many changes to the game that negatively impact the majority of the players that I have grown cynical of any move by CCP. Someday I will quit the game, but I guess I have a morbid fascination to see if my personal views on the direction of the game will come to fruition.
I could give a list of personal predictions for the game mechanics, but that is called rumour-mongering, and can get me banned.

You already stay there for 15 min if you shot someone/got shot from someone.
