Hi, i am a corp leader and helping trying to build a alliance. I know that i will probably get trolled for saying some of the things i am going to say here but idk. What i am looking for is some help, pointers, tips anything that could help me with the problem i am having. So please any help is appreciated.

One i am going to start off with what me and a friend of mine are trying to create. We want to create a pure pvp alliance that goes around and kills anything we want, ( more or less pirates ) kindof what pl use to be. Now that i said what we are trying to build let me just say that i know that it may take a little while to get big enough to pvp even a little like what pl use to. This is not really the problem the alliance right now maybe has 20 chars and 5 to 6 active, we have a very good fc and leader of the alliance, but still not getting anyone that even shows a want to be in the alliance. With only a few of us in the alliance that are active and no solo pvpers, ( even though i am trying to get better ) we have no real killboards. I have talked to some people in corps and just single pilots and people say they like the direction of the corp but no one is willing to join no real reason why.

So for the question, what does the players of eve want from an alliance or corp to join? What can we do to get more pilots? Why wont people join a alliance even though they say they like the direction? Any help with this is welcome.

You need to be able to offer something that is unique.

Perhaps one of the "problems" with Eve is the simplicity in which one can start an alliance/corp and the number of corps available to join is in the thousands.

Put simply, you need cred to get the recruits you need. Make kills, wardec, fight and earn your cred. If people see you're seriously into it they'll join.

Above all, have patience. Some of the best alliances are years in the making.

Put yourself in the place of your potential recruit. Try to answer his/her questions like:

  • What is joining you going to do to help me make more ISK?
  • What will your corp allow me to do that I can't do now?
  • Is joining your corp going to restrict what I can do elsewhere in the game?
  • What is it this corp offers that's different than the next corp?
  • What is this corps goal for the year?

Basic questions... if you have to stop and think about it to answer those questions, you might want to give them some serious consideration.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

If you're open to recruiting new players, this is a recent thread that details how to recruit/keep new members.

I would suggest trying to get more people in your corp before trying to get more corps in your alliance. Keep a recruitment thread active on the forums, link to it in your bio, keep ingame adverts active, strike up convos in local. Once you have an established corp, you're more attractive to other corps to join up with. If you can figure out a way of offering people ship replacements (full or partial, even just specific hulls) you'll be a step ahead of some alliances. Get good at supplying fights - highsec war decs, regular lowsec/null roams. Keeping people entertained is important, remember they can easily go somewhere else if the other place has more to offer.

get the standings. it doesn't matter what miltia. Host general militia fleets, if your any good you'll get more recruits.

Ah, I see now, I took the "twenty members" as being in your corp, not alliance. You need 10 in your corp to post there.

The problem is that there is far too much choice, so prospective pilots need to be drawn in. The only real ways to do this is either to have a really good killboard to show off, or to appear really proffessional/well organised. The latter means having a good website, public channel etc. It is still hard to get off the ground though, for that you basically need to make some friends in game and get them on board until you snowball. Find a likeminded, corp, convince them to merge, etc.
