I've been getting it occasionally lately. UK, virgin media, and the issues aren't limited to eve. General internet crap-outs are happening as well.

I blame the weather.

Oh, and goons. Because it's ALWAYS their fault, right?

I've been getting socket closed errors for the last 3 days. Until then I have experienced very minor service interruptions....now it's every 2-3minutes effectively rendering my game-play useless. This is from Canada.

What's going on with these problems?

Abovenet Communications is flagged as the possible suspect on my trace. Also the hop right before hitting one of CCP's servers has 100% packet loss....?!

Yep, I'm a week into EVE and the game is now unplayable. I really like it but I can't be bothered with this socket closed stuff. Is there any work-around at all? Fun but broken game.

i get connection closed every day, using cable internet in Canada. IT started happening after a patch/expansion.

tuning multiple clients, not all close at the same time, and sometimes one doesn't at all while others are down.

It used to happen now and again... Since REV 1.1 its happening all the time..........

Im in the UK and on Virgin Media........but cant see why that would make it worse after the patch....Eve is the one that has channged recently and thats where the fault lies.

There is a bug in the system that makes it close for some reaosn...but neadle in haystack comes to mind

I removed the Tomato firmware from my router and put in the lastest oem firmware and my problem seems to be solved, I've been running 24 hours without a disconnection, while it would cut every hour before. Since I did the fix before a DT, i'm sure CCP didn't fix it and it was my router settings causing the conflict.

Happened to both of my clients at once, then again about an hour later to the one I had open. The two accounts were nowhere near each other when the dual-DC happened. Several fleetmates also DC'd with me, the first time.

I normally don't DC at all, unless it's late at night and the ISP is rebooting something.

I've never dc'ed as well... But of late even patching the client has been a problem. I had to dl the patch 5 times and it wouldn't auto-resume. Got thrown off the game a few times today as well.

BTs fibre isnt actually proper fibre its is FTTB which is Fibre to the box. Sky use this too.

Virgin is the only real deal fibre in the UK.

Incorrect.
FTTB is fibre to the building which means fibre runs to the building and then routed from there. This fibre to the box as you call is is actually called FTTC, which stands for fibre to the cabinet, referring to the cabinet on the street, which can be anything up to 300m away.

Both BT and Virgin provide FTTP which stands for fibre to the premises and is a blanket term for FTTH and FTTB, as such both are capable of being final routed to pc using any method of cabling you wish.

Hope this clears everything up.
