I connected to Singularity for the first time recently and in step 2 of the installation, I made a new folder for Sin but forgot to change the path from CCP/EVE to the new folder so it patched my original game client. Is there a way to get the original Tranquility version back or do I have to re-install?

You can try to run repair.exe (should be in the client folder). You can also try to add /server:Tranquility to the shortcut of your client. (check http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Buckingham for how to add /server to a shortcut). Both ways should work, as far as I know.

That worked to get me back onto Tranquility but my all my logs. (Contacts, overview, fittings, etc.) have been reset.

You might need to make sure, that you are starting EVE like you were starting it before. Remove the /server:Tranquility part again, if you used this way. The other way would be to check your cache folders (more info at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Clearing_the_cache_and_settings) and make sure that the correct set of them is used (it might be using different folders for "Tranquility" and "87.237.38.200").

I did have the server:Tranquility at the end so I removed that but I still don't have my settings back. I looked at the cache and settings but didn't see them where it says they are. (User\Documents\EVE) I'm also not sure how to to make the game take a different set of them.

Hmm, I'm not really sure in this case. Are you sure, that you are starting the client from the old location?
If you are running Win7 you could try to have a look into C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE (you might need to enable hidden files and folders): there should one cache+settings folder per client location and server. Maybe you can see there what went wrong.

I solved it. When I made the new folder for the test server I had renamed the original from EVE to Tranquility. I just put it back to EVE and everything restored itself.

Thanks.
