People complain because they don't like change, especially when it curtails or makes their chosen activity a little more difficult.

It's the playerbase. That's right. You veterans call this game a sandbox and a "player-built" environment, which means you should then be ready to take responsibility, in large part at least, for the success/failure of the game.

Plus, if veterans would stop looking down their noses at new players and reach out to us, everyone would benefit. I guess that could be helped by CCP giving more safeguards against spies. This "VIP, Exclusivity" crap needs to stop. Alliances should be chasing down new players. Offering to teach them the game and take them along on ops to show them what they can look forward to if they stick with the game.

As usual, it's not the game that pushes new players away. It's Elitism, but of course I fully expect E-Snobs to flood this thread and insult me. 'Sall good. Just continue the status quo and let the game die. At this point I'm pretty much just holding out for Planetside 2 anyway.

Edit: If you want to discuss moderation please use the report button or raise a petition via the Other -> Community category. However, don't call ISD names because you didn't follow the rules - ISD Suvetar.


The older players are not against fresh blood in general, they are against the newer players who complain about game changes which just balance the game, or new players who even ask ingame how to tie their own shoes.

I have spend a lot of time in EvE helping out newer players and answered many questions from new players over the years. Amongst a big load of players who are unable to use their own brain, sometimes you come across new players who try out stuff first and then start asking specific questions about the more complicated stuff. That is the new players we always welcome and we are willing to help out.

And calling ppl names as in "ISD douchebag" will not gain you much sympathy from the older player base as well. You complain about how the older players talk down to you and then use such kind of language yourself. If you are new somewhere using offensive language will never gain you any sympathy.

Also on your comment about eve failing: eve is not failing at all..... it is healthy as ever.

Because we don't enjoy seeing the game we love slowly turned in to a safe, fluffy, carebear wonderland just so CCP can have more money in the short term. A steady long term income is better for EVE.

Hey Mallak, there's these guys out west and north (and soon to be the south and east) - you might even know them - who have blobbed fought their way and smashed all likely opposition.

The guys they are smashing are sooooo sick of it they are flooding into that soft, cuddly, safe environment because there's nowhere else to go.
