Hi,

I appreciate the help here. I just got an Orca and I know that it has 46,000 structural hit points. Now I'm am Mechanic level V, that should give me a 25% increase to the amount of shp for a total of 57,500. Alas, it still says only 46,000 shp in the fitting tab and on the cockpit meter. Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks.

On mobile phone app it does say 57.500 for me, cant verify if EVE itself also does.

Are you sitting in it? If not, skills are only taken into account if you are actually in the ship. If you leave any ship and do a show info it will tell you the base stats.

This is probably the issue. The "true" stats won't show unless you are sitting in a ship.

Also... EHP (Effective Hitpoints) refers to how much overall HP (shields, armor, and structure) you have when resistances are factored in. If you refer to just one part of your ship's HP, that's the "raw" [shields/armor/structure] HP.
Details... I know. But it's good to point that out so you speak the same terms as most others.

Now... slap on a Damage Control II on to that ship, undock, and turn on it. You'll gasp at how much your EHP increases.

Oh... one last thing

Your ship doesn't have a "cockpit." You are sitting in a capsule, deep within the bowels of the ship, controlling everything via neural link. What you see comes from the "camera drone" outside.
And yes... even the smallest ships use this control method as they are the size of 747s (just to give you sense of scale).

Hooray for game lore!!

Well uhm, somethings are off at times. I don't know why but if you look at this image taken in space you'll see that the fitting screen rounds my warp speed up and the (whats its name) rounds it severely down.

Funny stuff is when I dock the fitting screen tells me my warp speed is 0.8. Shocked

And yes I cleared my cache.

Sorry OP I cannot help, just letting you know you're not the only one being confused. What?

Damage control II + reinforced bulkheads on an Orca will give you a monster EHP, the DCII when active gives you a 60% omni-resist on structure and a boost to both armour and shield resistances, and with the minimal power requirements there's no reason not to perma run it.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
